ABOUT
Magnificently scenic, Lake Maggiore has a unique geographical position: its mountainous western shore is in Piedmont, its lower eastern shore is in Lombardy, and its northern tip is in Switzerland. The lake stretches nearly 50 km (30 miles) and is up to 5 km (3 miles) wide. The better-known resorts are on the western shore.
