Eco Capri

Capri Town Fodor's choice

For a one-of-a-kind piece from Capri, head to this concept shop just a two-minute walk from the Piazzetta. You'll find chic caftans, beachwear, bags, and home decor featuring drawings by the owner's grandmother (a prominent figure during the island's Dolce Vita heyday) reinterpreted in a modern way.

Bottega Capri

Capri Town

Sandals are a Capri specialty. With a family business stretching back to 1917, owner Vincenzo Faiella is justifiably proud of his made-to-measure footwear. Expect to pay €70 to €150 for a carefully handcrafted pair.

Carthusia

Capri Town

If you're looking for something that's easily portable to take back from Capri, then eau de toilette, potpourri, or perfumed soap might be just the thing. Carthusia has been making perfumes since 1948, but—as they will proudly tell you—the tradition of perfumery on the island stretches back hundreds of years to the days of Queen Giovanna of Anjou. You can see the perfumes being made through a window at the factory, close to the Certosa di San Giacomo.

La Campanina

Capri Town

Named after San Michele's bell, Capri's good luck symbol, La Campanina has crafted distinctive jewelry since 1950. Owner Lina Federico's family was involved in the production process for the bell that was presented to President Roosevelt at Christmas in 1944 (this is now on display at the Museum of the Franklin D. Roosevelt Library in New York), which inspired the shop's name. The family-run shop is also Capri's only official Rolex dealer.

La Capannina Più

Capri Town

With a selection of more than 1,000 wines (including kosher varieties) as well as marmalades and local Capri "stone" sweets (chocolate-covered almonds), this is an ideal place for connoisseurs to purchase gifts or souvenirs, especially given that the shop ships all over the world, as well as providing a service for yachts.

La Conchiglia

Just down the road from the Casa Rossa, Anacapri's branch of the island's bookstore and imprint carries luscious tomes on local history.

La Conchiglia

Capri Town

La Conchiglia offers the largest selection of books on Capri and publishes many sumptuous tomes through its own imprint. There's also a branch in Anacapri.

La Parisienne

Capri Town

Capri's main shopping streets—the Via Vittorio Emanuele and Via Camerelle, down the road from the island's main square, La Piazzetta—are crammed with world-famous names (Gucci, Prada, Dolce & Gabbana, Ferragamo, Hermès). But if you're overwhelmed by the choice and are looking for something stylish but distinctively Capri—in an astonishing range of colors—check out the bright prints on artisan-tailored clothes, bags, and shoes by Neapolitan Livio De Simone and other designers at La Parisienne. This is also a good place to purchase copies of the original Capri pants.

Liquid Art System

Capri Town

In the heart of Capri Town, this gallery is a favorite for collectors and enthusiasts of contemporary art, with paintings by local and international artists available to buy. They also have a branch in Anacapri and are responsible for the installations that dot the island in summer months.

Mariorita

Lovers of fashion, both Italian and international, appreciate this hip boutique at the Capri Palace, which sells its own upscale items, as well as those by big labels such as Versace, Valentino, Missoni, Trussardi, and Hugo Boss. It also deals in fine ceramics and has a children's clothing section.
