Fodor's Expert Review The Dean

33 Harcourt St., Dublin, Co. Dublin, 2, Ireland

This urbane and boldly designed new hotel a few minutes from Grafton Street is truly boutique with a unique mix of Georgian and modern architecture and an unusual selection of room sizes and shapes. "Pod" (small and neat with bed that doubles as a sofa) and "Punk Bunk" (compact with bunk beds for sharing) options are available for more value. A mix of Georgian and modern architecture give it an unique feel, while the rooftop bar is a great spot to watch Dublin at work and play. Irish art and design is at the center of the slightly lush but clean look of the rooms.

PROS

  • stunning views from rooftop bar
  • varied room-size options
  • Irish art on show

CONS

  • tries a little too hard to be cool
  • rooms aren't huge
  • noisy nightlife nearby
