This straightforward, comfortable hotel is a decent deal for its great location; there are a number of Mercure hotels in Munich, but this location, between Marienplatz and Karlsplatz, is right in the Altstadt. Breakfast, included in the price, is better than you'll get at lots of hotels, and even some restaurants.
room
Rooms are air-conditioned and modern, with spotted carpets and standard-issue hotel-style dark chairs. Nothing to write home about, in short, but comfortable enough. Rooms with single beds are available.
A free mini-bar with soft drinks is replenished daily, which is a nice touch.
bathroom
Bathrooms are a little small, but well-equipped and clean.
YOU SHOULD KNOW Irons have to be requested from reception, which feels a bit weird, considering the boards are in the rooms.
lobby
The reception area is unremarkable but staff go the extra mile, including assisting with early check-ins where possible.
dining
We've mentioned the breakfast already, but it really is a blinder, and always included in the basic price.

The hotel has a great central location, particularly considering the price.
Restaurants
Get your German beerhall fun in at Ratzkeller (6-minute walk). Or take a break from the heavy Bavarian fare and try some tasty Vietnamese at Soumi (3-minute walk).
