Grossglockner Highway

One of the best-known roads in the Alps, the Hochalpenstrasse—rising to more than 8,000 feet and containing 36 hairpin bends, with spectacular views the whole way—leads you deep into the Hohe Tauern National Park. The highway is generally open from early May to early November, but only during daylight hours. There’s a toll of €37 for regular or hybrid cars or €27 for 100% electric cars.
