Fodor's Expert Review Dreams Palm Beach Punta Cana
Cabeza de Toro, Bávaro, La Altagracia, Dominican Republic
Both family- and American-friendly, the fine Dreams resort is perched on a gorgeous stretch of beach with white-sugar sand and is looking fabulous, offering a wrist-band–free all-inclusive experience. In particular, the 75 Premium Deluxe rooms offer luxurious decor, particularly plush bedding, marble floors, and outstanding bathrooms with double rain showers on all three floors. But even regular rooms are large and attractively furnished. The expansive Dreams Pevonia Spa has an elaborate hydrotherapy area, and 30 restorative treatments are offered. The beach is well maintained, the buffet full of good food attractively presented, and the nightly entertainment is good. All in all, the resort offers a fun, active atmosphere, and as at other Dreams resorts you don't have to make reservations for restaurants (but that can translate into wait times during busy periods). The Explorers Club offers organized activities for kids and beepers to keep you in touch. The Preferred Club is a worthwhile upgrade and includes unlimited top-shelf alcohol.
