The long name is Lloyd’s Sporting Lounge & Entertainment Center, and, for Long Island, it has quite a bit. This comfortable and smartly designed sports bar and lounge has big-screen TVs for sports and five pool tables. In a separate room, they also have a disco, where you can dance to the live tunes of the bands and DJs every Friday and Saturday night. Lloyd’s hosts frequent pool tournaments, and people flock to enjoy happy hour from 5 to 7 pm weekdays, when beer buckets are four for $12. Their food is also good and affordable: Long Island mutton, chicken, steaks, seafood, and various fettuccine main courses are available. Lloyd’s is well-thought-out and rather luxurious for the Family Islands—very enjoyable especially for big-group entertainment and dining, to catch sports on TV, or to dance to some live music.

This resort often has live music on the weekends, including Rake 'n' Scrape. Every Thursday night is their Rum Punch Party, which includes rum punch, conch fritters, and dinner ($55 for nonguests). The clubhouse bar has a pool table and foosball, plus a huge rum collection. The restaurant has an excellent selection of wines. Ask about the frequent (in winter) Cave Party, where folks gather round and dine on barbecued treats in a cave. Call ahead to make reservations.
