Paradise lays just behind the gates at this secluded resort on one of the smaller, less tourist-ridden Bahamian islands. Dotted with hammocks swinging in between crisp white bungalows is a sprawling property outfitted with two private-entry white sand beaches, an infinity pool, and optional boat services. On-site dining and complimentary water activities make this 57-room property a hideaway that doesn’t require leaving.
room
With the choice between a stay in a suite, cottage, or villa guests will be pleased with the spacious white interior, high ceilings, and heap load of plush pillows. The simple, luxurious rooms match the atmosphere and design of the rest of the property making the rooms feel just like home.
If coming with a large party, renting a three-bedroom villa is the most luxurious option as it comes with a full kitchen, private butler, private pool, and sweeping views of one beach.
bathroom
Tiled bathrooms are filled with full-sized bottles of bath and shower products from the Mii Amo Spa, located at one of the resort’s sister properties, making it a perfect place to wash off the ocean spray and pamper oneself.
lobby
A small white room with a few couches and stunning views of the property set the tone for guests the minute they arrive. Just across the walkway is the resort shop featuring beach essentials, clothing, and local products that are sure to entice a bit of shopping.
pool
The heated infinity pool is connected to the deck of the restaurant and overlooks one of the coved beaches. Although it is equipped with an incredible view, it is significantly less crowded than the beaches.
gym
The property has a small 24-hour access gym, in addition to complimentary kayaks, paddleboards, and snorkels for watersport.
dining
Both the Gregory Town Grill and Freedom Restaurant & Sushi Bar offer a mix of Island, Asian, and American offerings. Stunning views of the beaches make the experience feel lavish despite being a casual experience.
YOU SHOULD KNOW As there is little reason to leave the resort, these two restaurants usually serve guests their every meal. Be aware that because most food cannot be locally sourced from the small island, prices are extremely more significant than you would find elsewhere.
drinking
The Point Bar is situated on a point bluff in-between the two beaches and serves as the perfect place to enjoy the breeze and gaze at the sunset. Despite serving wine and beer, the hand-crafted island cocktails reign supreme amongst guests.
Make sure to stay over at the resort on a Wednesday or Friday to enjoy the resort’s Hammock Happy Hour. Two drinks will get you a hand-delivered snack box as you sway in the breeze.
LOCATION
Getting Around
The resort offers complimentary bikes for guests to explore the island on their own or the Guest Experience Team offers tours for land and sea both on and off the island of Eleuthera. Guests can engage in half or full day trips that can include a variety of activities ranging from bonefishing to soaking in the Queen’s Bath natural tide pools in which all boats or shuttles will be provided by the resort.
Restaurants
The resort is very secluded and most guests choose to dine-in on the property for all meals. If it is desired, guests can hop on a complimentary bicycle to reach Gregory Town a few miles away. Due to limited options though, staying at the resort for dining is recommended unless your visit takes place during the area's annual Pineapple Festival.
WHY WE LIKE IT
Idyllic beaches, unlimited Wi-Fi across the entire resort, and a luxurious atmosphere that is geared towards an adults-only environment make The Cove, Eleuthera the perfect escape. With everything necessary located on-site and thus no real reason to leave, the only thing guests can do is sink their toes into the sand and ease into utter relaxation.
