Fodor's Expert Review Mango Bay Resort

Ong Lang, Phu Quoc, Kien Giang, Vietnam Fodor's Choice

A collection of rammed-earth and wooden bungalows scattered through a vast stretch of jungle and gardens fronting Ong Lang Beach, this eco-lodge is the perfect location for low-key relaxing interspersed with the many activities on offer. These include cycling, kayaking, snorkeling, volleyball, wandering through the butterfly, orchid, and rare plant gardens, and board games and movies at the Beach Bar. The friendly and efficient French and Vietnamese staff can assist with bookings at the spa, snorkeling and trekking tours, ticket bookings, and motorbike rental. The resort was first set up in 2000 by three friends who built an island hideaway of five rooms. It's expanded since then, but remains true to its principles of coexisting with nature and conserving Phu Quoc's biodiversity.
