Central Delhi

Sometimes also called Lutyens’ Delhi after the British urban planner and architect who was largely responsible for its design, Central Delhi houses the government center and the broad, imperial streets of power. Also sometimes referred to as "New Delhi" (as opposed to Old Delhi, Shah Jahan’s pre-British city), it begins around Connaught Place and extends about 6 km (4 miles) south. Most sights are south of Connaught Place.
