Fodor's Expert Review Grand Café & Beach
In a restored warehouse, this trendy operation has made good use of what was once a derelict piece of land between the V&A Waterfront and some other harborside development. It's now a place for locals to be seen, with a private beach, bars, and very comfortable covered seating scattered around Granger Bay Road. It's essentially an extension of the Waterfront and faces Table Bay with the Green Point Stadium, Signal Hill, and Table Mountain as pleasant backdrops. The first Grand Café is in Camps Bay, but it does not have nearly as much to distinguish itself from the people-watching cafés on the main road there.
