Fodor's Expert Review Bombay Brasserie
Turning the old Reserve Bank Building into a scene of fantastical opulence with ornate, handblown glass chandeliers, lots of dark wood, and abundant orchids, the Taj Hotel's Indian fine-dining restaurant does not disappoint when it comes to either ambience or flavor. Choose between three- or four-course tasting menus, or order à la carte from a menu that is filled with new takes on authentic Indian classics. Dishes like apricot-and-potato "tikki" cakes with yogurt and sweet tamarind chutney will get you started, and sublime interpretations of classics like black lentils and kidney beans or spiced coconut and green mango linefish are sure to delight. Although prices are on the high end for Indian, this is not your average curry joint, and excellent service supports an overall experience, which promises to be leisurely romantic all the way.
