Travel freely while the girls stay put.
Travel is all about freedom of movement whereas the brassiere was designed to restrict movement. Don’t get us wrong. The bra has its time and place; however, touring in a hot climate is not one of them. So what’s a travel gal to do?
The brassiere makes you hotter, sticks out of your clothing, and gets so sweated up by the end of the day, you can’t even wear it out again that same night. So, as people whose jobs it is to travel (and to think about traveling when we’re not traveling), we set out on a seemingly quixotic journey in search of El Dorado—apparel that can hold your girls in place so you can go braless without anyone being the wiser.
Our requirements were not loose; in fact, they were pretty binding. The garment needed to have at least one of the following hold-em-in-place features: built-in shelf bra or bra cups, adjustable straps, tie back, elasticized smocked bodice, a side or back zipper, or a button-down front designed to hold them down. Here are the best bra burning outfits we found.
The Mercedes Dress
Besides its timelessness and gorgeousness, this strapless dress by Mara Hoffman has three things going for it that will keep things steady: a fitted bustier bodice, a button up front, and a zip up back. Zip up pockets for phone, room key and lipstick are additional travel-friendly features. In 100 percent hemp, the Mercedes Dress comes in Sizes 00-12 on Mara Hoffman. An embroidered leopard version is also available.
The 2X1 Rib Stripe Tank Dress
Take to the high seas, even the rocky high seas, with a navy blue and white striped dress. A versatile tank dress is a must for the travel kit, but so much more so when the soft modal knit has just the right amount of stretch and a racerback to keep things motionless while you’re on the move.

The Ebb to Street Tank
This one’s made to take you from the yoga studio to the street, so we don’t see why that doesn’t also apply to the streets of a foreign city.
