Suzy Pope

Suzy Pope has been a freelance travel, food and drink writer for the past seven years. She grew up in the Scottish Borders and in 2011 graduated with an MSc in Creative Writing from Edinburgh University. She's been calling the Scottish capital home ever since. Obsessed with ancient culinary traditions and local delicacies, she works as a restaurant reviewer and covers all things Edinburgh food and drink for local culture magazine The List. On vacation, you’ll find her picking at street food stalls and diving into local markets. At home, she’s often tasting a nip of whisky to find the sweetest, smokiest dram. She has written travel features and guides for publications like The Guardian, National Geographic Traveller, New Zealand Herald, Jetsetter magazine, The Independent, Culture Trip, and various consumer magazines. She lives life in hiking boots and has completed some of the longest walking trails in Europe. Her travel writing often focuses on two things; where to walk and what to eat and drink when you get there.
