Susan Portnoy

Susan Portnoy is a photographer, travel writer, content creator, and the founder of The Insatiable Traveler blog. A full-time freelancer in 2018, her work has appeared in Travel & Leisure, Hemispheres, Smithsonian, AFAR, Travel Weekly, PetaPixel, and Newsweek, among others. Susan grew up in Michigan. After college, she had a three-year stint in Madrid but considers herself a New Yorker with over two decades under her belt. Sharing her images and tales is a second career after two decades as a communications and public relations executive in fashion, entertainment, business, tech, media, and events. Her last position was VP of Corporate Communications for Condé Nast. Adobe tapped her to pen 12 articles (six are live) on travel photography for the company's Lightroom Academy. She has won multiple Lowell Thomas Awards (the Oscars of travel writing) and was named the Bill Muster Photo Award "Photographer of the Year" for 2021. She loves exploring remote destinations, experiencing new cultures, and expeditions focusing on nature and wildlife.
