Samantha Symonds

After her English with Creative Writing Bachelor from Brunel University London, Samantha Xia Symonds started her writing career with a scholarship at Ogilvy, then marketed for charities and nonprofits, before becoming a food editor at a local British magazine in 2015. Since then, she has spent 10 years in four continents as a writer, speaker, and communications consultant; covering finance to fitness, HR internal communications to healthcare, and travel to tech. Her creative writing has won prizes and been published by Financial Times, Sentinel Quarterly, Canadian Geographic, Alpinist Magazine, Well+Good, and others. Clients include GetYourGuide, Arla Foods, Amazon Lex, The Linnean Society and The Royal National Lifeboat Institution. Beyond the keyboard, Sam is a passionate yogi, rock climber, and qualified SCUBA diving instructor, freediver, and Scientific Diver with over 1000 logged dives from visits to 40+ countries. Cities she lived in and loved include Vancouver, Sydney, the entire islands of Koh Lanta, Mo’orea, and Viti Levu, and her hometown of Birmingham, UK.
