Richard Eisenberg is an "unretired" writer, editor and podcaster. He writes for MarketWatch, Fortune.com, AARP, Next Avenue, People and Wirecutter and co-hosts the Friends Talk Money podcast. He graduated from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism. He is the former Managing Editor of Next Avenue, Executive Editor of Money, Front Page Finance Editor of Yahoo! and Special Projects Director/Money Editor of Good Housekeeping and has been Director of NYU's Summer Publishing Institute's Digital Media program. He received the RTDNA/NEFE Excellence in Personal Finance Reporting Award, the Coming of Age Impact Award for Leadership in Positive Aging and the 2024 United Church Home award for Contribution to Abundant Aging. His Next Avenue team was a Finalist for General Excellence/Digital in the SABEW Best In Business Competition. He teaches NYU's MasterClass in Unretirement course and has moderated panels for the American Society of Journalists and Authors, the American Society on Aging and Age Boom Academy. He has lived in New York City, Washington, D.C., Westfield and Cranford, N.J. and Evanston, Ill.
