Kylee Nelson

Kylee is a traveling Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse and avid solo traveler. She has spent five years caring for premature and sick babies in the NICU and has been a travel nurse for three of those years. Kylee began her website, Passports and Preemies, in 2017 while volunteering as a nurse in Skopje, Macedonia as a way to reach nurses and advocate for the prevention of nurse burnout by traveling. Since 2017 Kylee makes it a priority to take one extended solo trip per year lasting 8+ weeks and visits new countries each time. Kylee has written for The Gypsy Nurse and Furnished Finder. She graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in biological sciences and attended Emory University where she completed an accelerated nursing program receiving her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, thus becoming an RN, BSN. Kylee grew up in Omaha, Nebraska but has lived across the country as a travel nurse in Santa Barbara, Scottsdale, Austin, Boston, and most recently Seattle.
