Josephine Wong

Josephine is a New York City–based travel writer and photographer whose work has appeared in Condé Nast Traveler. She is the 2025 recipient of the Travel Classics Scholarship. Born and raised in Hong Kong, she spent school holidays traveling through Nepal, India, and Tibet (where she was once gifted a baby yak for her birthday), and has since lived in Osaka, Florence, London, Boston, and Hawaii. Before turning to travel writing, Josephine spent five years working as a graphic designer in corporate and tech roles, followed by a stint as a social media manager in hospitality. When she’s not writing or taking photos, she’s usually hosting dinner parties, planning craft nights, or dragging her friends across the country to go on a hike.
