Jay Jones

Jay Jones became hooked on travel in high school, when he was an exchange student in Switzerland. Since then, he has traveled to all 50 states and more than 45 countries. He has written extensively for the travel sections of major newspapers including the Chicago Tribune, The Dallas Morning News and the Los Angeles Times, and also for websites, magazines and a travel guidebook. Prior to becoming a full-time travel writer in 2007, Jay worked in broadcast news both in the United States and the United Kingdom and received numerous awards for his reporting and producing, including coverage of the famine in Somalia in the early 1990s for the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC). Jay is a native of Aurora, Illinois, but has lived in several cities across the U.S. and U.K. He and his husband now live in Las Vegas, Nevada.
