Ingrid Yang, M.D., J.D., is a travel and wellness writer whose work blends medical expertise with a lifelong dedication to movement, culture, and meaningful exploration. A board-certified internal medicine physician and longevity specialist, she brings a rare dual background to her reporting, pairing scientific insight with a deep appreciation for the ways people live, move, and care for themselves around the world. Dr. Yang’s work appears in Travel + Leisure, Fodor’s Travel, Outside, Business Insider, San Diego Magazine, Yoga Journal, and other national outlets, where she covers everything from remote wellness destinations to the science of longevity and the cultural rituals that shape local ways of life. In addition to her editorial work, Dr. Yang serves as a hospital-based physician in San Diego and consults internationally for longevity clinics, helping develop wellness, movement, and lifestyle-based programming across the globe. She is the author of several books on yoga and mindfulness and continues to lead immersive wellness retreats throughout Europe, Asia, and the United States. Dr. Yang has been recognized for her expertise in the wellness space, including being featured in The New York Times as a top wellness retreat leader. She is also an active speaker, delivering lectures and workshops on longevity science, integrative medicine, yoga therapy, and mind–body health at conferences, retreats, and medical institutions worldwide. She believes the most compelling travel writing is rooted in curiosity, cultural respect, and a willingness to see the world, and ourselves, with fresh eyes. She is especially drawn to how daily rituals reveal a culture’s values, how landscapes shape human behavior, and how travel can reconnect us to awe, embodiment, and a fuller sense of meaning.
