Doreen Nyamweya
Doreen Nyamweya is a travel and tourism writer from Kenya and creator of the unconventional tourist blog. She is passionate about telling unique stories about travel and tourism in and out of Kenya. Doreen has written for reputable publications like Sustainable Travel and Tourism Agenda’s print issues, and websites like the Utaliibora Blog and TravelDudes, among other individual blog publications. Doreen has a bachelor’s degree in tourism management with adequate knowledge and practice in the field. With over 4 years of writing, she has received recognition as a rising sustainable tourism leader through her dedication to advocate for sustainable tourism and its practices among her reader audience. She has hosted a community action project to sensitize gender inclusion in climate action within Kenya. She is born and raised in Kisii, a town in south-western Kenya, partly spent time in Eldoret, a town in western region of Kenya and now based in Nairobi.
