Yury, Bella and Joyce. What a spread! Russians really love their New Year’s celebration, and it was so nice to be included and to sample many of their traditional dishes, all of which were homemade.

Bella told us what was inside the pastry like looking dish but it is so difficult to understand her. She has a thick Russian accent and stage 4 cancer that was hopefully successfully treated five years ago but has left her with issues enunciating and mega issues with swallowing. Poor thing. Whatever it was, pork, cheese and pomegranate seeds on top, it was my favorite!
