Sorry about that Jor. Have you seen Home for the Holidays with Holly Hunter? It wasn't a box office hit but it's one of my favorites as I relate well to the characters. Sometimes it helps knowing you're not the only one who feels the way you do...of course a stiff drink never hurt either ((d)) :)>-

Scarlett, No not on Thanksgiving. I'll probably be around 1200 miles away with extentended family. dcespedes, My favorite holiday movie is "Its A Wonderful Life". My brother could have starred in the movie as all the grumpy people after James Steward jumped in the river.

Scarlett Nov 20th, 2004 02:38 PM

LOL,Diana, yes, well read and educated..with well bred dogs too ((&))! Giggling.. I haven't seen the show either, my tastes run more to Curb Your Enthusiasm these days ..
I love Home for the Holidays! I like just about everything Holly Hunter is in, jor, glad it will not be repeated anytime soon ((F))

My favorite Thanksgiving movie is _Planes, Trains and Automobiles_. It says it all about holiday travel. God I miss John Candy.

My personal self-torture commences Monday and will, of course, involve planes, trains and automobiles. Oh I can hardly wait!

I'm lugging along a bottle of Gammel Dansk that some friends gave me in Denmark. It's a potent bitters/digestive that I'll use to lubricate my unwary family members after Thanksgiving dinner. Should be fun!

Happy Thanksgiving!

"Wealthy, married and spoiled rotten." Why Scarlett how kind of you to say. Don't forget Phi Beta Kappa and Sorority Girls. :S-

Lapdog aka m whatever aka gojacks-I thought Danny booted your big pot belly, sagging butt outta here. Cty baby wanna be. :((

Still got the crud! More tea for me, although maybe a nice hot toddy would do the trick. ~o)

Reading this thread on a Sat. night wishing for a Wahoo drink I had in the Bahamas recently...tired after spending the day at soccer games with the kids. I am the spoiled housewife who loves to travel and read about other traveler's stories Lapdog. I guess you do to if you are reading all of these posts!
Where would I rather be? Not cleaning my house for Thanksgiving thats for sure. I guess I am not that spoiled if I clean my own house!
I guess I would rather be sitting in First class on my way to a great place!

I am picturing a lapdog.
Small, shakes a lot, not much hair, bulging eyes..chihuahua?
Short hair, bulging eyes, no nose, big attitude, little dog..pug.
:D

indie Nov 20th, 2004 07:43 PM

:) hmmmm only rich, spoiled women own lapdogs - maybe one of those just dumped poor doggie for a nice bit mutt with personality...

just back from drinking a really nice "semi expensive" pinot noir.

rooof roof

Scarlett Nov 20th, 2004 07:46 PM

What kind of Pinot Noir?
We bought a bottle of Logan Pinot Noir the other day. The Yankee went to slip it into the wine rack, it slipped right through and out the other end, hitting our new tile floor and breaking into many many fragrant bits.
So we went out and got another bottle and had that tonight. I did not love it.
We also have Parker Station, I like it a lot.
But I am a Wino in Training so what do I know~

cigalechanta Nov 20th, 2004 07:59 PM

tonight, we had FRESH large sardines that we cooked from a French recipe but first we had sea urchins served in shell with a squeeze of lemon juice, they were served with a chablis and followed with a gigandasto enhance the sardines. Dessert was a fig and pecan ice cream and a glass of Beaume de Venise. The lapdog was not typical. Tho small, he doesn't stay on laps and has a personality. :)

LoveItaly Nov 20th, 2004 08:10 PM

Oh gads Scarlett, the last time I did that tell Yankee that it was not semiexpensive but really expensive champagne. Oh the joy of cleaning up that mess. Glad I am not the only klutz. Did he swear? I sure did! #-O

tondalaya Nov 20th, 2004 09:08 PM

Dare I say scotch in Scotland?

LoveItaly Nov 20th, 2004 09:46 PM

tondalaya, yes you may, but only if you will admit that it is a least semi-expensive scotch and that you are spoiled. We do not want to spoil "lapdogs" impression of us, do we?

Take good care!
