What's Your Poison and Where Would You Rather Be?
 

I've been on a Pinot Grigio kick lately, but it's been rainy and windy in the islands today. So, I'm a tad chilled and prefer room temperature Merlot tonight.

Paris is where I feel like being. Sitting at a street cafe on Rue St. Germain with my wonderful husband.

How about you?

mrwunrfl, my son was in Miyajima last fall. He said as he stood by the water looking out at the little lanterns in the water, that he heard a slight noise, turned and a deer was standing beside him, looking out over the water too!

I've been cutting down my stock for the winter, but a Seagrams VO manhattan is my fav. I had to raid my mini collection to mix a decent manhattan for my first drink of the evening.

Now I'm on to Skyy vodka and diet tonic. Diet tonic? Who the heck brought by that crap this summer? Too bad I'm such a Hoosier I can't throw it away. :-D

I'd rather be in France. Luckily I only have to wait for Thursday. I'm off to the Bordeaux region for 10 days.

Seattle is dark and rainy yet still I prefer white vine.

Let's see I'm dreaming tropical... Puerto Vallarta Mexico or Lahaina Maui Hawaii come to mind. Therefore I would be drinking either a margarita or rum + guava/passion/OJ.

A chilled bottle of Mer Soleil Chardonnay waiting for me on the terrace of a private villa on the island of Nevis while I lazily do laps sans la bikini in the pool with only the light from the stars above and the sound of Caribbean frogs in the background.

Easy one; on the deck of an overwater bungalow, under a star-lit sky, anywhere in French Polynesia. If I were there, I wouldn't care what the &quot;poison&quot; was.

Oh-la-la Diana. Is it too late for me to catch a non-stop from Indy? =P~

I'd like to be in Paris, Statia, but now I'll have to do with our Grey Goose.

ABCM (anything but cabernet, chardonnay and merlot).
Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris (most with that label, 'tho the same grape, are way better than Pinot Grigio), Rhones, Grenache, Tempranillo, the giant Alsatians from Zind-Humbrecht, and some nice rieslings from Austria and the German Pfaltz, Mittelrhein, etc (ex: Moseltal - great area, but I don't like the wine).
We're currently into a '00 Andre Brunel Cuvee Sommelongue Cotes du Rhone - a nice winter wine for less than $10.
Location - anywhere but DFW - my house in San MIguel de Allende would be nice.

Diana, I'm just a hop-skip-and-a-jump from Nevis (fifteen minutes give or take provided I don't have to go thru SXM). But, don't feel bad, you would come only for cool temps and drizzle this evening. Not that I'm minding that a bit, to be quite honest. One can only take so much sushine. :)

Scarlett and Mimi, and everyone else, good to see you here on a Friday night. My DH and I are enjoying our odd cool and drizzly weather while reading and talking on the patio with our Merlot. But, I think DH might be starting to fade out on me. After all, it's getting late here. :)

I've been into the hot drinks lately: chai tea, pumpkin latte, hot chocolate. I just love the fall. I can honestly say there's no place I'd rather be right now: getting ready for my family and DH's family to spend our first Thanksgiving together in our new house.
