On our familie's first trip to SF (an August vacation), we each brought back the jackets (who knew the tempurature could get down in the upper 40's?!) we had to buy from a downtown department store on our first day there!

Just bought a few stuff from Lush yesterday.

Wait! Somebody posted that Lush was supposed to have been closed out of business !

Where the heck did we buy those soaps from ????

When I am in SF I usually come home with fabulous shoes!!

Hi LoveItaly- I'm a DSW budget type of shoe shopper. We have DSW down here in the South bay, but they're not the same as the one on Market St. :-)

LoveItaly Jun 10th, 2006 07:40 PM

Hi trippinkpj, actually DSW it at at 111 Powell St., but you are right that is just a few steps up from Market St.

The city I live in has Outlet Stores but in that I am hard to fit regarding shoes (high arch) I usually do not find any shoes here that are that comfortable. Unfortantly we do not have any non outlet shoe stores.

Italian brands work fantastic for me but only if I buy them in the US. I was told by a friend that has a Bruno Magli store in Italy that the last for "made in Italy" shoes that are sent to the US are different then the shoes that are sold in Italy which is why I have better luck buying Italian brand shoes here in the US then a do in Italy. Bummer! LOL.

If you get into SF do check out the Arthur Beren store which is on Stockton at Geary. If nothing else it is fun to look at their merchandise. A great store (but expensive) if you want shoes that will hold up for years and that are good for travelling and lots of walking.

That's right Love. I think there's a shoe place actually on Market near there (maybe Shoe Pavillon). I will look at the Arthur Beren store. My new favorite walking shoe's are Geox brown loafers. I just checked: they are made in Brazil. I got mine at Macy's, and Nordtrom's has them too. I have a fun shopping area near me: Valley Fair and Santana Row (San Jose/ Santa Clara area).

Sorry typo alert. I know it's spelled Nordstrom's. :-)

Hi trippinkpj..Santana Row, my grandson and his girlfriend have fallen in love with Santana Row, LOL.
I haven't seen it but sure have read the articles about it..lucky you!!
We did have a Shoe Pavillon here in Vacaville but they closed down about a year ago.

Since you like loafers (I do too) do look at the Ferragamo loafers at the Arthur Beren store. Yes they are very expensive but trippin if you take care of them they last for years and years and never go out out of style. I will have to check out the Geox shoes..I am not familar with them. I love shoes!!
Happy shopping and walking.
