catbert--How about climbing a 14er during an eqrthquake? My DH was doing that last night when the quake at Rainier hit!

Yikes. That's a once in a lifetime experience! Did he have a cell phone with him?

Yes, he does. I haven't heard from him...they were to summit lat night. Hoping they were still at high camp when the quake hit and that they were not on their way up. He always leaves me with all the specific route details of his climbs, so I have that in case I do not hear from him by our agreed upon time (5pm today). I have been checking the hiking/climbing boards, but there isn't much info just yet.

OMG, he just called! They are fine:) He said it was really cool...they could hear it before they felt it, that the sound was coming from below them. They were at high camp, and were about to head out, so they didn't chance it and stayed put. He said it was an amazing experience (course probably not one you would want to repeat!). They talked to the ranger this morning about it.

Ate at the automat and loved it

Saw the Christmas show at Radio City

Caught crabs with fish heads tied on a string and ate those crabs that night at the Jersey Shore.

Have put vinegar on fries best purchased on the boardwalk in either Jersey or Rehobeth.

Stopped 6 nights in a row for beignets at Cafe du Monde


Am still left breathless by the Lincoln Memorial at night

Shook hands with Senator JFK as a young girl

Did buy a house in the SF Bay area.

Oh Molly B~you made me remember sniffing the newly ditto'd handouts and loving the smell.

And,I almost forgot..going to the drive in in pjs.

And taking the cancellation on first class stamps"Pray for Peace" seriously.
(Stamps were 4 cents then).
