Thanks! I'm going to look into lessons, but I don't know if we can book this late.
Additionally, there's a good chance I may have foot surgery in the next few weeks (for something unrealted to any activity!) so I'm not sure if I want to pay for a lesson and then not be able to use it because I can only snowboard for 10 minutes :) But, I will wear a helmet. Promise :) |
Can we buy a one day lift ticket? Any discount specials you guys know about? :)
|
We went at the same time and we able to arrange lessons when we arrived.
Have you checked the Breck website for rental/ lessons / discount info? |
I did find discount lift tickets at King Soopers, so I think we'll do that.
I just spoke to fiance about it, and we may look into lessons that day. I thought he was more advanced than he actually is. We may spend all day on the bunny slopes! hehe |
I think the Breckenridge website shows a one day lesson/lift package for $101. Tickets at the resort are around $80 so the package is a good deal. You definitely should be able to arrange lessons when you arrive. At some of the ski resorts you can get a discount if you reserve lessons or equipment ahead of time.
I'm glad you are wearing a helmet and are concerned with your safety, but just remember a lesson also helps to protect other skiers and boarders. An inexperienced snowboarder ran into my son two years ago. My son ended up being okay but my husband was livid. How would you feel if you slammed into a little kid? Okay, I'm done with my lecture. Take a lesson and have fun! |
I have info!
So the Ski and Ride School in Breck offers 1/2 day of lessons plus lift ticket for 91 pp. Lift ticket only is 81. That really isn't too bad. Of course, fiance doesn't want to do the lesson now. But, for a ten dollar difference, I think I will. I just have no experience and I really want to enjoy it. |
I just got back from Breck.
The single day lift rates: All Day $81 Half Day (12-4) $60 Late Arrival (2-4) $35 Rental Equipment: All Day $40 Half Day $25 |
I will second wtm003. While we were in Breck, a skier was killed (hit in head)at Copper Mtn by a snowboarder. Please be careful!!
|
FYI: Look closely at the lift ticket/lesson combo. Though less expensive than purchasing each separately, if you are thinking about skiing the mountain(s) separate from the lesson, keep in mind the lift tickets with the combo are usually limited to certain parts of the mountain(s) or certain lifts...often not usable for the whole ski area.

I've stayed at that Super8. It's a good location for exploring Summit County.
