Spending this weekend in Boothbay Harbor, ME to attend a wedding nearby, then driving to our place in Killington, VT for 2 days. After that, we go to the Breckenridge, CO area for 5 days and then to our place in Naples, FL until just before Thanksgiving. Retirement is great!

I am planning on traveling from my home to work nearly every day in October. I know it is a totally repeat destination but I somehow feel compelled to do it. The locals are outwardly friendly and make sure I have a predictable experience each and every time. Our tour group is headed by a very lovely woman who makes sure your day is filled with none stop activities each day. My fellow travelers usually include back stabbers, latter climbers, and slackers who just want to kick back on a chair and enjoy the view through the window.

The food is cafeteria style and staffed with wonderful locals in their native costumes. On occation there are special events planned for us. They include activites such as reviews on how hard you are enjoying your stay, weekly group chats with the tour director, and the once in a life time throwing of the fake fish, a wonderful exercise to get to know your fellow travelers better.

I will once again have a fantastic travel experience with all the people who I know and love.

Traveling to Boston for the oldest son's final parents' weekend :(.

Yes! Oct. 13 thru 18: FINALLY going on that hiking trip to Zion and Bryce that I had planned twice last spring and both times got cancelled. How fortunate am I-- I get to go w/my best hiking buddy who happens to be my best client also. Stopping in Vegas (for the first time) overnight at the end of the trip on the 17th to see Elton John at Caesar's Palace for her birthday.
Columbus Day weekend: quick NYC trip tacked onto a business trip.
Happy Travels everyone.

My "big" travels plans at the moment is to the post office in the next city to pick up the necessary forms to send to the passport office, along with my renewed passport and about a million copies of credit cards, frequent flyer card, birth certificate etc. etc. as when my passport was renewed this last time they did not renew it the "same as before" so my name on the passport does not match all my other ID"s. Well, until I get this straightend out I just look at it as saving money, can't leave the country.

Hello, everyone! This is my first visit to Fodors.com. I am flying from Monterey, CA to Kalispell, MT and will stay in Whitefish for 4 nights. Then I'm taking the train to Sandpoint, ID for 4 nights. Next, a train ride will take me to Seattle where I'll spend a week with friends on Bainbridge Island. From there, another train ride, to Hood River, OR for 3 nights. And finally a week in Portland before flying back home. I'll be gone from October 8 to November 2. I hope the weather won't be too chilly!

Only traveling I seem to be doing this month is to Yankee Stadium for some post season games!! LOL (Yes we managed tickets, but we're not seated together). :-(
Trying to convince the BF right now to go out east today by the North Fork or the Hamptons and see if there's a place to go pumpkin and apple picking.
Also contemplating going to DC or Boston again....alone.

My boyfriend and I are going to Vegas for the first time this coming weekend. We're staying at Bally's and our gambling will most likely consist of slots, slots and more slots. We get in really late Friday night and want to head out as soon as we settle into the hotel so I'd appreciate recommendations! Planning a couple buffets, maybe one nice dinner and hoping to find a decent nightclub that doesn't play house/disco/techno.

... a road trip with a group of lovely ladies that "keep me young"... Ottawa Canada bound from Chicago to visit a "bud" who is interning in Parliment there. I hope I get there, as work is pulling me in a miriad of direction other than play. ;;)

just returned: spent a great weekend in Provincetown, MA at the fabulous Benchmark Inn. the Benchmark is upscale without being pretentious, understated luxury would be the best description: every possible amenity in the clean and comfortable rooms, and the best use of space i've ever witnessed: the rooms aren't huge but are so well designed that it doesn't matter one bit. all have a queen or king bed, gas fireplace, private bathrooms (our rooms had jacuzzi tubs), CD players, TV's, and include a continental breakfast. i think i need to make this an annual thing!!
had good meals at Bubala's By the Bay, Cafe Heaven and Ciro and Sal's. wonderful shopping. had a blast!

Leaving Friday am for 3-week roadtrip through the south for music and foliage and Civil War history. Memphis, Nashville, Smokies, Charleston, Savannah, Natchez. The foliage here in New Mexico is beautiful but it is mainly aspens--so it is lovely but mostly golden.

To antmaril: however did you manage to get tickets to Oprah? I tried for an entire month once to get through and get one.

Mary
