The interesting thing here is that they claim they will change the cover after each guest but its probably a good bet that if they can get away with it as doing as needed, that is probably what will happen. I am sure there is not a housekeeper or executive housekeeper who is thrilled with this trend.

My dh went to white duvets when he did his Grand Hyatt Tampa renovation in '03. At the time he thought it was pretty novel, and it might have been, but now everyone's going that direction, including his new hotel here in San Antonio. And they too say the same thing..."change the duvet after every stay".

I beat everyone's trend...went to a white duvet on our own bed around '90. No one is allowed to sit on the bed though...and we still have it today. Hotel beds don't get the same care! I'm not yet sick of the look but I'll tell you, changing that duvet cover is no picnic--No_name may have a good point....and I'm not asking! :)

I am staying at a Hampton Inn Suites right now on business and it indeed has the lovely white duvet cover. It is a GOOD thing.... to quote Martha!!!!

We've had the duvet cover for winters for many years; switching to thinner white pique blanket covers for summer. They are washed weekly, but not by me--if that was my job I would probably go to a black comforter. =;

Here is a gross thought. I just spoke with someone who has been in the hotel business for years (all different levels and jobs) and she said those ugly bed spreads are lucky to get washed 4-6 times a year. YUCK!

I just stayed at the Renaissance in Prague and the bed covers were so dreamy. It was such a comfortable bed with the duvets, I love this!

Yep, I stayed at a Hampton in Dover, DE, last week and they were implementing their white duvet covers which were changed with each new guest. I will gladly pay for the "service".
