Marriott now changes ALL bed coverings after each guest!
 

Yes, even the bedspread! We stayed this past weekend at the Marriot City Center in Pittsburgh. Upon checking out I commented how comfortable the bed was. The gal said Marriot's beds are new and when you stay at a Marriot and see the white comforters, it means they are changed after each guest. She said they are the only hotel that does this. I love it!

Hampton Inn is also going with all white duvet covers and they are changed after each room change. I think it is trend we are now going to see with a lot of hotel chains.

That is great news! I really do hope this catches on with other hotels. I was talking to a friend the other day, who does not read travel boards, and even she said that thinking about hotel rooms is pretty gross, lol! I will have to tell her this news.

We just stayed at a Radisson and they are all now going with sleep number beds. I know I am a minority with this - but I thought it felt like a very padded aero bed. It was very uncomfortable no matter how I adjusted it. I really hope that will not be a trend! lol!

noname, you are not alone in disliking the sleep number bed. We had a sleep number bed delivered after what seemed like a comfortable bed in the store. I was surprised during my first night's sleep to find it was like sleeping on one of our camping air mattresses. We had them come and get it and give us a standard mattress. Couldn't get it out of the house fast enough. Slept on the couch until the new one came.

On topic - This is great news for travelers.

Most hotels do not change bedspreads and blankets after each guest. This IS a trend I hope catches on.

Hotels do change the sheets but the blanket and the bed spread usually do not get changed until really needed.

It's as No Name said, Hotels change sheets daily but have never changed bedspreads and blankets after each guest. Now, Marriott and I guess Hampton Inn does which is wonderful!

You can always call down to housekeeping, after you check in to your room, and ask that someone come to change the blanket and bed spread.

Kudos to Marriott! Another reason why I think that they have about the most reliable product in the market.

The Hilton in lower Manhattan uses the white duvet covers too. Love it. Also love their flat screen TV. :)

I would not be surprised if many Hilton products (hiltons,hamptons, garden inn, homewood suites etc.) all go to white duvet covers in the future.

You can be assured that the guest will be paying for the new service. It's really the wear on the bed coverings that have discouraged more frequent cleanings than the expense of cleaning itself.

Yes, some consider it gross that many hotels don't change coverings (other than the more durable sheets &amp; p.c.) after each guest, but I don't think that it has been proven that anyone ever caught anything from them.

Well of course the guest will be paying for it one way or another but it will be a perceived value of walking into a what seems to be cleaner room because of the white bed cover.

Westin has been doing this for some time (at least 3 years) with their &quot;Heavenly Bed&quot; program. It was so popular that the linens they use are now for sale. We received a brochure the last time we stayed at a Westin resort (last year) offering them.
