Well, I used to LOVE October in NYC. I think October is the perfect month~~
AND free is certainly the right price!!

>>I used to LOVE October in NYC. I think October is the perfect month~~<<

Wrong island . . . ;)

Dickie_Gr Mar 26th, 2014 11:34 AM

Gretchen

I wish my detached house was in Manhattan, unfortunately it isn't and as a result isn't worth £50m.

It's in SW Scotland and is worth 8 sheep and 3 highland cattle.

It is still free to non nutty Fodor type people. Which leaves about 6 or 7 possibles.

Gretchen Mar 26th, 2014 12:38 PM

Not sure what Janis and Dickie are replying to me about, but what I was referring to was Dickie's reference
"Just unsure about the weather further north.: If he was talking about the weather north of Edisto--where I thought the link was. And thinking of going somewhere other than the SC coast.
I am so confused!! LOL

Dickie_Gr Mar 26th, 2014 12:52 PM

Sorry Gretchen

When you said free, thought you were referring to my comment about my house in Scotland being free when we visit SC. JanisJ has visited our village and most of Scotland, she was after a house sitting job.

janisj Mar 26th, 2014 01:36 PM

Oy - Vey . . . I thought your >>I think October is the perfect month ~~ AND free is certainly the right price!!<< post was about Dickie_G leaving the key under the mat while he's staying in Edisto Beach. I assumed there must be some 'Rock Cliff' on Long Island or something . . .

Gretchen Mar 26th, 2014 05:18 PM

You all know each other too well--or just right!! LOL

BUT there is no doubt that October in the US is a beautiful month just about everywhere.
And I'll volunteer for the house sitting job too.

janisj Mar 26th, 2014 05:51 PM

>> You all know each other too well--or just right!! LOL

Nah - he does complain about my driving . . . But I've not laid eyes on the man. . >)

When I read the title, I thought that someone had found a low-cost flight from Atlanta to somewhere. That would truly be a first.

Dickie_Gr Mar 28th, 2014 09:42 AM

Hey!

Delta finally gave up and offered Man:ATL:CHS turn with very good times and connections for £525 each. They have fluctuated from £867 to this new low, all in a week.

Just booked the flights in a flash.

Also booked the house.

Thanks for the assistance.

dwdvagamundo Mar 28th, 2014 10:30 AM

Wow! It'd be double that to go from ATL, I suspect.

starrs Mar 28th, 2014 10:40 AM

That's a great deal!

Dickie_Gr Mar 28th, 2014 11:34 AM

I don't know what the hell my parents were doing giving birth to me in Scotland.

I should have been born on a dock with a fishing rod, copy of Southern Living and a crate of Corona. That's where I'll die........If US immigration will have me.

Really pleased to have got Delta, always been happy with them.

jent103 Mar 28th, 2014 01:06 PM

Dickie, you should check out Garden & Gun as well. It's like Southern Living, but with more alcohol, more music and fewer casseroles. ;) Congratulations on the great deal!

starrs Mar 28th, 2014 01:56 PM

Great recommendation! G&G is fabulous.
http://gardenandgun.com/

Which reminded me to vote in the bracket.

Woo-hoo! Savannah is beating Charleston right now! :-)

jent103 Mar 29th, 2014 09:11 AM

starrs, I'm mainly surprised that Florence/Franklin is so close!

I feel more genteel every time I open my new G&G.

starrs Mar 29th, 2014 01:41 PM

I read some comments trying to rally the AL folks to keep an AL city in the running. I really expect Franklin will win. I predict Asheville will take all ;-)

starrs Mar 31st, 2014 10:44 AM

Hey jent, have you looked today?
Franklin won. :-)
And it looks like Savannah is going to beat out Asheville.
Savannah already beat out Charleston. :-)

Dickie_Gr Mar 31st, 2014 10:52 AM

I'm lost!

starrs Mar 31st, 2014 11:03 AM
