sea wahine,

What are PoPos? Are they as good as rooster jerky?

Maui, eh? I've stayed at the Kaanapali Beach Hotel years ago (before Kauai) and liked it. Nothing fancy, but it is in a great location and is an excellent value for that part of the island.

popos cookies. You can get em right from popo in kapaa if you look in the phone book and seek her out in the little strip mall! SO good(drooling). Also available in the kapaa Longs if you get before they ineveitable sell out. Also in the Sueoka market..

You people have me sold on Kauai and I haven't even been to Hawaii yet! ;;) I try to read this thread a couple times a week . . .very entertaining and informative. Great photos . . . beginning to feel like I know you all. ;)

Due to this thread and your delightful posts, I have purchased Hawaiian music; daydreamt about my lanai view of crashing waves and towering green cliffs; and even purchased the obligatory Hawaiian shirt for DH. Now I just have to get him to take enough time off work to go.

Thanks for a great thread! =D>

bill, oh dear, i just read my last post..and my inner editor must correct..inevitably is what i meant in there..
Yeh..well, maui is so close to molokai and the ferry seems like a more affordable hop than the kaui flight would be. So we figured we'd go hawaii supahstar. I have such strong memories of the mana of the west maui mountains. I heard that the koko gorilla nature reserve thing was not going well. Too bad! I think an ape would be in absolute nirvana there as opposed to, like, Sunnyvale, or wherever those guys are now! I am a little nervous about bringing my 3yo and mother inlaw on this ferry ride. Anyone out there with words of comfort or caution? As ever, many mahalos..
