dcespedes Jul 27th, 2005 11:59 AM

mikemo, at 76 are you in the mountains?

ethel Jul 27th, 2005 12:00 PM

It's a rainy 62 degrees here in Lake Placid, NY...I don't mind it at all since it's been hotter than _insert your own analaogy here_ and my building is not air conditioned. It is actually nice wearing some sleeves today.

michelleNYC Jul 27th, 2005 12:01 PM

Right now in NYC -- 96 -- Real Feel: 104... nice... :')

michelleNYC Jul 27th, 2005 12:04 PM

EstyOst1 Jul 27th, 2005 12:08 PM

sylvia3 Jul 27th, 2005 12:15 PM

Fodorite018 Jul 27th, 2005 12:21 PM

Yes, it is roasting here in Portland! Spent a week in Central OR and it was fine there, but something about this heat at home is just not right.

We are in a suburb and tend to be 3 degrees warmer than the city. Yesterday it was 95 at our house and today is supposed to be warmer.

My dad is in the east bay and said it was roasting there too, mentioned something about around 100 degrees.

DH flew to the LA area this morning and so wonder if he will be roasting?

msearp99 Jul 27th, 2005 12:32 PM

Humidity: 57% << THIS will get ya!

Clear
Wind: E12
Barometer: 29.96

Patio thermometer went over 100F on this past Sunday

I hate it!

Scarlett Jul 27th, 2005 12:34 PM

mikemo, you will have me feeling sorry we did not move to Mexico!

We are getting clouds, but this heat will last until the late fall..I am SO looking forward to Portland weather!!
I know, I have already said that :)

Pup refuses to go outside. ((&)) he's no dummy.

GoTravel Jul 27th, 2005 01:04 PM

Over 100 and heat index is 120 south of Charleston.

LoveItaly Jul 27th, 2005 02:18 PM

Just got back home after a run up to Sacramento airport and lunch in at a restaurant here when we got back to Vacaville. It is HOT. Not sure of the temp but imagine about 100 degrees. But I know we don't have the humidity that some of you do but nevertheless I am so sick of this heat.
And have to leave again in a bit, yuck!
Wish I were in SF.

Tandoori_Girl Jul 27th, 2005 02:24 PM

It's got to be 100 in Tampa. The afternoon rains cool things off but lately that's not even working. After it rains it's more like being in a cloud or a sauna. lordy.

SFImporter Jul 27th, 2005 02:28 PM

I think we've hit a few 80s - but thank goodness the fog rolled in before it got too hot! ;)

Fodorite018 Jul 27th, 2005 02:39 PM

Had to finally crack down and check the temp...it is 101 already! We have a friend arriving today from Seattle...he may not want to stay, lol!

Kal Jul 27th, 2005 03:16 PM

I'll be in a fog in about 45 mo' minutes. O:)

uhoh_busted Jul 27th, 2005 04:00 PM

I'm late responding to this one here -- recovering from 100+ in Durham/Chapel Hill NC with some chilled Merlot with our broiled rockfish dinner. Ceiling fans are whirling and both AC units set to a socially acceptable and politically correct 77 degrees. People keep telling me it in not normal so hopefully next year we will be totally happy with 90 degrees daytime. It is sad not to be able to use my lovely screened porch -- even with it's ceiling fan paddling the thermometer says it's about 96 and the sun set a good bit ago.....

tpatricco Jul 27th, 2005 04:01 PM

T-storms came through quick and we're down to 79! Aaaahhhh!

gyppielou Jul 27th, 2005 04:02 PM

God bless the yankee!!! Mrlou wishes I was feeling Hot Hot Hot in this horrid heat and humidity!!!!

Kal Jul 27th, 2005 04:07 PM

G'lou,
Think William Hurt/Kathleen Turner!!! ;)

uhoh_busted Jul 27th, 2005 04:11 PM

but you need a breeze to get those wind chimes going...

seetheworld Jul 27th, 2005 04:11 PM

We dropped 27 degrees, but the humdity is still nasty. The winds were so bad I thought I was in Oz. One of our dead trees that was slated to come down tomorrow, came down on its own during the storm. Every single flower pot turned over -- a mess, but could have been much, much worse.

Looking forward to a delightful day tomorrow :D

Kal Jul 27th, 2005 04:17 PM

STOPPIT uhoh...
My rolling chair is stuck under my desk again!!! :-"

gyppielou Jul 27th, 2005 04:23 PM

Oh but darling Kal......that makes you look Hot Hot Hot!!!!! Careful!

suzanne97 Jul 27th, 2005 04:27 PM

Ok all you folks in Michigan who brag it is 70 and lovely.....re-read this in January when you are under 5 feet of snow as it will be 70 and lovely here in Arizona...lol

BuffaloGirl Jul 27th, 2005 05:51 PM

I've lived in Buffalo my whole life, and this is only the 2nd time I remember a summer so hot!!! But it's not the heat that's getting to me, it's the HUMIDITY!!! I can't stand the humidity. And to think we've talked about moving to Florida to get away from the cold. Yikes!

Cali Jul 27th, 2005 10:02 PM

We just flew into Minneapolis today and it is wonderful. Tempt was about 77 degress when we arrived and no humidity - but it is coming back again this weekend. of course it has also been hot in
CA (where we live and left) dso no complaints about a little cool weather. We are heading to Northern Mn right on Lak e superior so hope it is cool and sunny the whole time we are there.

cmcfong Jul 28th, 2005 03:50 AM

Cali, have dinner at the Angry Trout. You won't regret it!

JJ5 Jul 28th, 2005 06:24 AM

Off to my lake in Michigan tonight for 4 days. It's 78 there with a mild breeze.

And I love winter when it is 25 degrees and there is snow all over the lake. Neighbors come visit us on a snowmobile and there are no piers or shore stations visible, so the leafless view is particularly more outstanding.

When it was 104 for all those hours outside last Saturday & Sunday, we were conjuring up the sensation of snowburn on your face and how your feet feel after ice skating etc. Also hot toddies on the deck with a big bonfire next to the sea wall. My guy said he could almost feel the ice in his beard, almost. Ha-ha!

michelleNYC Jul 28th, 2005 06:26 AM

It is SEROIUSLY hard to believe that it's only 74 degrees outside today... I hope the "cool" weather holds out for my wedding on Sunday!!!

michelleNYC Jul 28th, 2005 06:28 AM

ok... that should be "seriously"... I *seriously* cannot type today...

Cassandra Jul 28th, 2005 06:35 AM

Michelle, if you are on Fodors 3 days before your wedding, you are either much cooler (inside) than I would be or you're really wigging out! Congrats and good luck, esp. with the weather!

Meanwhile, here in Chapped Heel NC, I'm feeling gypped because the cold front hasn't really made it yet, stalled over the mountains or something, so it's steamy again this morning. Bleah. Tired of breathing AC-breath air.

Statia Jul 28th, 2005 06:36 AM

Congratulations, Michelle! I hope the cooler weather holds out, too.

JJ5 Jul 28th, 2005 06:49 AM

Hope your day is everything you want it to be.

michelleNYC Jul 28th, 2005 07:05 AM

Thanks guys!! Actually, I'm in the office (call me crazy) but I just can't bring myself to work... thus, here I am.

MelissaHI Jul 28th, 2005 02:15 PM

Oahu, surprisingly, has a huge raincloud over the whole island today. It's a lovely 82 degrees with light rain. currently it's noon so there's sun peeking out and I can see the tropical reef fish in Honolulu Harbor (literally outside my office window).

OneWanderingJew Jul 28th, 2005 02:21 PM

Enjoy your day, Michelle...and congrats to you both!

Where are you honeymooning? Will it be hot there?

gyppielou Jul 28th, 2005 02:42 PM

Gave our dear bride her own wedding post....jump on fellow fodorites!!!!!!!!Happy Wedding!!!!!!

Birdie Jul 28th, 2005 02:59 PM

Its much cooler here in Williamsburg today than it was yesterday. 90 compared to 102. My poor son had to walk 18 holes carrying his clubs for a tournament yesterday THEN he had to go out and play 3 more for a playoff in 102 degree. A lot of moms and dads were following in carts with ice, water, and cool towels. Not this mom. I am such a bad golf mom!
