By the end of the year, I should have 40 + DC.
|
Add DC- forgot that one!! So, that's 44+DC.
|
48 (including DC). Missing the Dakotas and Wyoming.
|
By my count:
30 States + Washington DC 21 States + Washington DC as a teenager or older, not including passing through by train or car |
37 plus DC.
Wow, I was so proud of my count until I read all your posts! You guys are amazing! I wonder if there's a club for people who have visited all 50? |
I'm halfway there. 25 states plus Washington, DC.
|
Gosh I need to get going. I've got 22 so far where I've stayed for vacation or for work. I don't count the drive throughs (that would add about 6 more).
You guys are great! |
31 + DC. And 2 more for airport layovers if you want to count them (but I don't).
Must have been in the state, not an overnight, other wise I couldn't count Deleware, Rhode Island, Mass. or Nebraska. And, yes, Alaska was sleeping on the cruise ship. I'm missing most of the mid-west plus Hawaii. So, if I fly to Minnesota, visit the Mall of America I can 'easily' get Wisc. and Iowa in that trip. Plus add in another day for a long haul trip to the Dakotas? Boom, 5 more states taken care of. Why must there be LARGE states in the middle of the country? |
Not nearly enough, most of my travels within the united states have been to the upper-midwest east of the Mississippi and the Northeast. I ventured west of the Mississippi for the first time in 10 years last February (to go to St. Louis, which barely counts), and 15 years ago I went to Colorado, Arizona, and Texas (and we drove through a bunch of other states on the way). That being said, in that 15 year span I've traveled to Brazil, Russia, the UK and central Europe, so it isn't as if I've been a hermit. But the lack of travels in my own country is unfortunate, I feel like I really don't have a good sense of it sometimes (because lets face it, it is sort of hard to get a feel for the place by mainly traveling and/or living in the northern midwest or the northeast).

30 + DC & PR.
|
50 + D.C., and I've been a resident of 8. However, I'm probably the only person who has actually spent a week in South Dakota without seeing Mount Rushmore. I've got to get there some day.
|
only 6 here. i've got a long way to go!
|
I need to visit the following States:
Maine Connecticut Wisconsin Alaska( just stopped at the airport) Illinois( same as above) Michigan North and South Dakota Montana Wyoming Ohio Kentucky Nebraska D.C I lived in: NY Texas California Louisiana Hawaii |
A question from 2-3 years ago ... but okay ... all of the states ... now, do I win anything, and if so, where do I get it? Ciao, L
|
If you include the ever challenging state of confusion (never want to do a lay over there)...
...that would be 1 + let's see here, 1 + 25 = 26 :S- |
I am fortunate enough to have been to all states & DC except for Alaska, Washington and Oregon.
I need to take a NW Coast Vaca! |
i've still got to get north dakota, south dakota, mississippi and alabama i need to hit the gulf coast highway!
|
There seems to be a pattern here. Most people who haven't hit 50 are missing Alaska, and many are missing Mississippi. I still need Alaska, plus Georgia,Alabama, North Carolina, Delaware and Oregon--the last one on that list will get checked off this summer. I may have been in some of those Southern states when I was one year old, but I prefer to count states I can REMEMBER.
Vera |
I've visited 23 states, plus DC--didn't count the ones I had layovers in or drove through...In thinking about this, I may have been to more foreign countries than my own. Perhaps I better get my butt to the airport and see more of this country first ;)
How many of you have seen more of other countries than your own?? |
49+D.C.--only Oklahoma left.
