We using marker from the UV light and can see with only a light for the secrete ID works. Try it on it.

I tie a gold ribbon around the handle, but now (ready for my next trip) I have my Schnauzer picture special luggage tag - bought in the USA!! (loved your pet accessory shops!)

Bright colored pipe cleaners twisted around part of the handle and tucked in so it does not stick out. They don't catch like ribbon or bows but mine are neon green and I can pick it out easily

This is the patch my husband put on his camera case a couple of years ago.
We used the Gorilla Glue (very sparingly) and it is still on, no peeling, no lifting.

I use the thick black and orange yarn, which I braid and attach to handles. Also have large gold metallic tags.
We spot the bags as soon as they shoot out on the carousel, but I can't believe the number of people who pull them over to see if they're their bags. I feel like shouting "Do you have black and orange yarn with gold tags on your bags!"

Animals know how to mark their territory. We should learn from them :)

We used silver sharpies and wrote all over the bags all the different countries we have visited, they are very easy to see when they come down the line. Then all the people around us stare at the bags and say things like" they are so young, no way they have been to all those places!"

My brother is a plumber and his 10 year old daughter used his silver duct tape to mark her suitcase. She covered the entire thing in it. They recognize her luggage immediately but then must wait until everyone else has left to avoid embarassment.

Pipe cleaners, ribbons, braided yarn, fabric paint, sharpies-- this is sad, folks. Luggage is not a kindergarten arts and crafts project. Why can't you make do with a luggage tag?

I don't bother and have never had a problem.

My wife used flourent craft paint and marked each bag with the word "MINE" on them. It is never a problem spotting the bags as they come out. OH look, there's mine"!!!

My mother's a knitter, so she has made big yellow yarn pom-poms that she attaches to the handle. Amazingly enough, they have never fallen off and she often does two trips a year.

Mine is vivid turquoise.. I only confused it 1 time. For my DH's standard black he has these velcro/spongy things to wrap around the handels that say "MY BAG" and then he put on his initials...

My suitcases are easy to spot because I fastened a tiny red and yellow padlock to one of them and a bright green key chain to another.

IMO most of the ribbons I see on suitcases looks sloppy.

Warning: Don't use a "good" key chain. When I did, it was removed by someone during the time it wasn't in my possession.

I realize I'm just being stubborn, but again, can someone explain why a normal size luggage tag is insufficient? Some of the stuff you all are describing could be seen from space!

A colorful luggage tag would be an ideal choice. Scrap the ribbons.

I'm not a fan of the ribbons either. A distinctive luggage tag is my favorite option. Luggage other than black is my best option.

But, hey, we each get to choose our own!

I have unique luggage tags, but must say, those luggage tags fall off. Therefore, I supplement that with a unique printed ribbon around my handle. No one else would have the same exact ribbon in my family's case, but they may have the same luggage tags (I doubt they create one of a kind luggage tags!).

Well sometimes luggage tags fall off, quite often actually. It can help to have something stuck on. I have a red suitcase which is easy to spot but if I use a black one, I put on a bright tag and usually some sort of colored sticker.
