mah1980, I have learned that when you give enough rope, people generally hang themselves. It should be clear by now, don't you think?

sylvia3 Jan 5th, 2006 11:18 AM

LOL

mah1980 Jan 5th, 2006 11:21 AM

You're right STW. I think Ziana is hanging right now!

chepar Jan 5th, 2006 11:37 AM

Where I'm from, most people give cash gifts.

However, whether the gift is cash or not, it should be received in the spirit that was given - a gift expressing well wishes and congratulations.

Everyone at some point or another receives a gift that is not really to their taste. But to bitterly denounce it as "junk" and "crap" seems to indicate a lack of appreciation towards the well meanging intentions of the gift giver.

Ziana Jan 5th, 2006 11:47 AM

seetheworld,
You MUST have learned something else.

GoTravel Jan 5th, 2006 11:49 AM

Yes, you are correct seetheworld.

I've seen that very thing happen. It is almost inevitable after a period of time.

JJ5 Jan 5th, 2006 12:00 PM

So if that is true- seetheworld, GoTravel and mah1980, do you think that calling her names and doing your own "classy" act doesn't follow exactly the same path.

I do apologize, but I just can't understand how the pot could call the kettle black.

seetheworld Jan 5th, 2006 12:03 PM

JJ5: And what name did I call her? It's just an observation and a correct one at that.

mah1980 Jan 5th, 2006 12:07 PM

No one is calling anyone names. Like STW said, they were just observations.

If one is willing to be so out there with comments about the trash people give, then one must be prepared for the response.

Ziana Jan 5th, 2006 12:15 PM

In this thread all seetheworld said was:

Sounds to me like someone likes to out-do the bride, lol.

Seems like I have made too large of an assumption...
There seems 3 kind of people - third kind who keep aside and watching, then comes out and sh***t all over, hi seetheworld.

seetheworld Jan 5th, 2006 12:21 PM

See what I mean.

Ziana, you have infested two threads with your opinions and have sh**ed all over everyone's else comments.

Talk about name calling.

Ziana Jan 5th, 2006 12:31 PM

I am totally refuse to continue this because I am affraid seetheworld might have a heartattack IF I happened to choose to continue. Good day or whatever there is where you are.

Ziana Jan 5th, 2006 12:35 PM

not done yet...If i infested two threads with my opinions - at least I worked hard but you???
3 short mindless sentenses but look at hurt feelings!!! like you helped the world here!!!!! Bye now

GoTravel Jan 5th, 2006 12:35 PM

Later alligator!

seetheworld Jan 5th, 2006 12:40 PM

You would make an interesting thesis, Ziana. But fortunately, I have already defended mine. I help the world in ways you couldn't begin to imagine.

Don't let the door....

mah1980 Jan 5th, 2006 12:48 PM

na na na na

na na na na

hey hey

goodbye

Ziana Jan 5th, 2006 12:59 PM

I bet I can't imagine
HA HA HA HA HA

greenfieldhunter Jan 5th, 2006 01:21 PM

wow guys

different strokes I guess

Where I come from cash is considered tacky, but not nearly as tacky as a bride or groom "expecting" ANYTHING.

"Cover your plate" - with what (???)

What i have learned from this thread is that not enough people use their silver or crystal.

Break it out- live a little. Why bother having the stuff if you don't use it- the only meal we did not use silver for was breakfast- something about eggs causing tarnish.

BTW- silver goes in the dishwasher just fine except for the hollow handled knives (even those seem to do fine but I have been told not to so many times it stuck)

aggiemom Jan 5th, 2006 01:35 PM

green - I agree. I use my wedding silver and china for my husband and kids whenever I feel like it. And I remember the people who gave it to us and their good wishes.

LoveItaly Jan 5th, 2006 02:04 PM

I have used my Lenox China and Wallace sterling silver daily (including breakfast) for decades. Everything has always been put in the diswasher. All items are just as beautiful as the day I got them. If there is a bit of tarnish on the sterling (from eggs perhaps) I use Oneida Silver Polish to wipe over them, rinse and then put in the dishwasher. That takes just a moment.

Most people "save" their china and sterling for "special occassions". What is more special than having a meal with your immediate family? Even now that I am on my own I always use my china and sterling. Nothing will happen to it, honest.
