Alas, "Waddles" has recently closed in Portland OR. Their slogan was, "You walk in, but you waddle out!" Their onion rings were to die for. :-(

And those 'Waddles' home fries at breakfast...yum yum.
(Can't believe they closed for a Krispy Kream of all things, and now Krispy has decided against it afterall. )

I don't remember where, probably in California somewhere, a Thai food restaurant "Thai me up".

In Park City, we also have a Nacho Mama's. In Salt Lake, there is also a Brewed Awakenings coffee drive thru.

My favorite is a bar that's been around many, many years. Used to be called "My Wife's Place". Now it's "X Wife's Place."

(expression, not bar)

Don't rememeber the name of the bar but in a tiny cowboy town here in Northwest Montana they have an annual

Testicle Festival at the bar.

Hey Rain_Monkey03 you started a pretty funny post here and got a lot of responses cause it's a fun post which we need more of! I suggest you start another one on funny names/slogans of businesses.

I would do it myself but this is your gig so go for it.

I'll give you a start. There is a septic system cleaner truck that goes around here on Cape Cod with a slogan "We are #1 in #2".

"Lik-A-Chik"-my parents sent me this on a post card but I can't recall if it is in the Pacific NW US, or Canada...

When I was in Portland, OR, we ate at a Vietnamese restaurant called MisoHapi.
It was really good and our tummies were very happy!

Wednesday - you beat me to it - I was reading the thread and thought I just had to post the "A&K Lick-A-Chick" www.lick-a-chick.com.
It's in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.

There's a commercial on TV now with a fake restaurant that is getting no business - it's name is "Sam 'N Ella's Restaurant" (or something close to that).

Found it hilarious as we would always joke about inviting Sam and Ella to dinner when people would talk about keeping areas clean when preparing raw chicken or having undercooked burgers.

Meesthare May 3rd, 2005 09:07 AM

Quite right, kcapuani! My daughter used to work there. It was always a bit embarrassing explaining that to people. :)

There used to be a hot dog stand in San Francisco called "Franks for the Memories"

Then there's "Beaver Dick's" in Jackson Hole...
