LOL Jocelyn! I love to interpret dreams. What you dream is a symbol of something else.

Now that you know what is making you nuts maybe you'll feel better?

Jocelyn_P Sep 10th, 2004 06:17 PM

GT,
Oh, it's no secret what's been making me nuts. I just think it's funny that strangers are able to see it through a vague description of a dream! I know it could be a lot worse--I don't have a hurricane bearing down on me.

Statia Sep 10th, 2004 06:25 PM

Thanks, Buckeyemom.

And Joceylyn....no more weird dreams, you hear? No more pizza before bed! :) (That always does it for me.)

Iregeo Sep 10th, 2004 08:10 PM

Rant: Awoke to an INTRUDER in my bedroom in the middle of the night while on vacation at the beach. It's gonna take a long while to get over that one.

Rave: No one was hurt -- just scared to death.

Rave: We're way ahead of schedule on our kitchen remodel.

Good wishes to you all now facing Ivan.

Woke this morning early to walk the dog and get the paper and stood in my driveway looking east to NYC. There was the most spectacular sunrise I've seen in awhile. As I stood in the chilly morning dawn watching the sunrise I thought about this day three years ago. I thought about how appropriate it was to have such a sunrise...rather like a tribute to those who lost thier lives three years ago. So this is a rant and a rave...and a God bless all of you who have been in harms way and have stood strong. And a prayer to all who will be facing danger soon. We are here and thinking of you.

ellen_griswold Sep 11th, 2004 04:21 AM

Very nicely said jersy and i echo ALL your thoughts. God bless you all and God bless America!

Jocelyn_P Sep 11th, 2004 05:20 AM

Yikes, Irego! I'm glad everything's okay.

Okay, Statia, I DID have a late night pizza dinner that night--lol. By the way, I wish your DH the best. I'm sure it will be difficult to be separated during that time.

Rant: All people who drive SUVs but really should drive green cars or at least simple sedans instead.
Rant: people who complaint about gas prices but drive SUVs
Rave: it is a beautiful day
Rave: flying to Europe next week then to Africa. All flights are first class

Jocelyn_P Sep 11th, 2004 10:20 AM

earlxx: I hear ya.
Rave: Many car companies are in the process of making hybrid versions of SUVs, including the Lexus RX, Toyota Highlander, and Ford Escape. These will no doubt be popular cars, which will hopefully motivate other car makers to do the same.

ooo. jersey, your post gave me goosebumps. God bless the USA!
rant & rave: My niece is in India right now having adventures. I guess I worry a lot about her, but I do want her to see the world while she is young.

rave: Her travel parter's plans changed, so she can't go to Nepal tomorrow as planned. Phew!

rant: I wish I were off to Europe and Africa with earl!

Kal Sep 11th, 2004 12:46 PM

kimmer and statia-thx for the shout.
My day old rant would be aging parents and aging in-laws.

"If I knew I was going to live this long I would have taken better care of myself" is so appropriate at times.

Ditto Mels' comments about jersey's message.
Been watching the 9-11 events from NYC, DC and PA. Still very sad and it still makes me angry. Next to the Vietnam Memorial in DC, the WTC site in NYC was very emotional for us.

Iregeo, how frightening! I'm glad to hear that you are ok.

Jersey, very nice sentiments on this sad anniversary. My thoughts go out to all personally affected by 9/11. I know we were all affected, but some of us lost loved ones in the tragedies.

Jocelyn, glad to hear you're having no more pizza before bed tonight. :D Thanks for your thoughts on my DH. I will travel as far as I can with him tomorrow and await word from the US after he arrives.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Scarlett Sep 11th, 2004 01:05 PM

Iregeo!
Thank goodness you only got a fright! I am so glad that you are all OK.

Rave:
In Foreign -movie- deprived Jax Fl, I got to see Intimate Strangers and spent 2 hours in the dark, pretending I was in Paris...sigh~

Scarlett Sep 11th, 2004 01:24 PM

Rant:
People with 0 sense of humor :(
(since there are days when I have more than I need)

Rave:
People who post here that are so helpful and friendly and willing to meet total strangers just out of friendliness!

Buckyeyemom- I'm looking for some good recipes on the Inernet, we now have enough dove for a feast. I think this Gravel Pit Syrah we just picked up at Engelmann Cellars would go nicely with it. It says it goes well with game on the label.

I haven't had it in a long time, but yes, I remember it tasting somewhat like chicken. Next we'll be doing quail, it's mountain quail season now also! Hubby just went to get the wine press! This is fun. Still thinking of ideas and logos for wine labels.

Eventually I would like to have a small tasting room in the back of our house with wine tasting on weekends. That would be a fun venture. I could buy all my Reidel glasses at Trader Joes! Syrah, Zin & Viognier would be good starter wines. ***kim***

Scarlett Sep 11th, 2004 03:46 PM

Dove tastes like Chicken ?
That is what my dad said when he tried to get me to eat Rabbit and Frog :(

did you go dove hunting kim??

9 days til Portland :D

Cricket Sep 11th, 2004 03:54 PM

Speaking of dove... I've got a ton in my freezer now and not a clue what to do with them. Did you end up finding a good recipe, Kimamon?

kimamom Sep 11th, 2004 04:10 PM

LOL, I went once when we were dating and I started crying. I just couldn't stand the sight of it, I'm not big on hunting, but my hubby loves it!

I found lots of yummy recipes, I e-mailed them to DH since he is the chef in the family. Just google up dove recipes and you find lots of them!

There are many varities of ways to prepare them. I think the recipe with the bacon wrapped around them sounds good, served with brown rice and maybe a Caesar salad.

I know deer hunting season is upon us, I don't care for venison at all. When we were first married, we had a freezer full of it and I think we lived on venison tacos the first year of our marriage! LOL

Scarlett, you will be in God's Country very soon, have a great time! ***kim***

Patrick Sep 11th, 2004 04:20 PM

Gee, I've been eating Dove Bars for years, and I never thought they tasted like chicken at all!

Budman Sep 11th, 2004 04:23 PM

I can attest to the fact that rabbit, frog, dove, quail, and escargot all taste like chicken. I just can't convince my wife. ((a)) ((b))
