AHaugeto, so happy to hear that things have turned out A-ok! Great news!

Thanks to you and highbay also for the prayers and thoughts.

I want to add that I know tomorrow will be a very sad day of remembrance for New Yorkers, people in D.C, and PA, as well as the rest of the country. Hang in there, Ryan.

Rant-Second job interview last week and I haven't heard a word.

Rave-DD is staying at her friend's tonight. ((w)) 8-|)

Rant-Hurricanes, floods, tornados oh my. Go away!!!

buckeyemom Sep 10th, 2004 12:27 PM

Rant-Not sure how that monkey and rose got in that post!?!

Scarlett Sep 10th, 2004 12:28 PM

Ryan, to you and my friends 'back home', we will be thinking of you all tomorrow and of those loved ones who were lost~

nigelsmom Sep 10th, 2004 12:48 PM

Hi Guys:

Rave: My son was in the hospital last week (bad eye infection) made it out on Thur. His vision is fine & swelling has gone down.

Rant: Frances gave us one hell of a commute, subways & streets were a circus!

But compared to what you guys are going thru in FL it seems very small. Wren: sorry to hear about your damage.

Rave: Weather is beautiful, and yes Ryan I had the same thoughts you had as I eased my way down Sixth Avenue towards the village. Tommorrow night I'll look towards the tribute of lights and remember & thank god for bringing us thru it.

Rave: My little sister volunteered to plan my birthday celebration in Feb..and travel is involved!

Buckeymom: keep ya head up..a job will come callin real soon.

Enjoy your weekend everyone!

ElendilPickle Sep 10th, 2004 01:35 PM

Rave (well, a mini-brag): I won first place for my oatmeal bread and third place for my whole wheat bread at the New Mexico State Fair this week!

My prayers are with all of you in New York and DC this weekend, as well as those awaiting Ivan's approach.

Lee Ann

Ani Sep 10th, 2004 01:36 PM

HAve to add:

Maureen: Yes, there is a village missing its idiot and I think I know where they can find him!

Statia: Good luck to you and DH!

One more Rant/Rave:

RAVE: Making sangria tonight!
RANT: Little Miss Riley turns 5 months tomorrow ...too fast!

leelane911 Sep 10th, 2004 01:50 PM

Ani, I don't like John Kerry too much myself but I wouldn't refer to him as an idiot. You should find another board for your views.

MarthaB Sep 10th, 2004 02:23 PM

RAVE: The cicadas are still singing (screeching?) in the trees. I ((L)) their singing.

RAVE: My first garden ever -- be it ever so humble and ugly -- is producing tons of tomatoes and peppers. And, it's all organic.

RANT: The hurricanes. Go away.

RANT: Tomorrow is 9/11. Dh is a former NY-er. His high school lost 13 in the Twin Towers.

MMS, sounds like a crazy day, Happy Anniversary, too! BTW, we are playing Portland State next Sat!! I just ordered four tickets for us! My son just informed me that you guys will probably "get creamed" but we'll see!

I think we have a pretty good team this year. My son was Captain of his HS football them with one of the guys on the team who is doing pretty well over there. It's fun to watch him play, brings back memories. He's been one of the lucky ones that have escaped injuries thus far! Go Bulldogs!! ***kim***

Fodorite018 Sep 10th, 2004 02:45 PM

Oh Kim...I'm not a PSU fan...we are a huge family of OSU Beavers! After 28 straight losing seasons, or was it 29?...anyway, our fans are quite loyal and enjoying not being the total Pac 10 doormats, lol!

Marilyn Sep 10th, 2004 03:00 PM

Rant: people who top controversial threads that are years old -- for what reason?

Rave: I did 100 crunches at the gym today, definitely a personal best. No one was more astounded than I!

Rave: mini fodors GTG in St. Louis when I'm there for my high school reunion.

Rant: I don't think anyone has RSVP'd yet for this mini GTG, which may be mini indeed (just me and annesherrod).

Scarlett Sep 10th, 2004 03:16 PM

Marilyn, that is SO true! I think it is someone who has lost their bike or trike and they have no one to play with.

Rave:
the people of New York. I miss them and wish them well and send them love.

Jocelyn_P Sep 10th, 2004 03:32 PM

Rant: I had a bad dream last night. I was trapped in a building (a school?) and there was a scary man named Ivan chasing me around. I couldn't leave the building because my kids were somewhere in the building, but I wasn't sure where.

I need to get away from the news headlines for awhile...

Statia Sep 10th, 2004 03:46 PM

Nigelsmom, glad your son is ok.

Ani, thanks for your thoughts.

Where is Kal this week?

kimamom Sep 10th, 2004 03:54 PM

Kal has been around, he wanted me to adpot him, but I already have a full house! LOL ***kim***

GoTravel Sep 10th, 2004 03:58 PM

Jocylen, classic anxiety dream and you have some issues with some loose ends. The loose ends aren't necessarily your children but they are important.

Also, something in your life is making you feel trapped or boxed in.

MarthaB Sep 10th, 2004 04:12 PM

Jocelyn and GoTravel, I think that's a REAL movie! I swear there's a very scary B&W movie out there that's very similar to Jocelyn's dream. Thought it had something to do with Nietze (sp).

Pre-9/11, I used to live right in the shadow of Chicago's Hancock building and used to have vivid dreams the building was falling on me. Talk about awful. Made me actually move. Luckily, I've had no more bad dreams -- only good ones.

buckeyemom Sep 10th, 2004 04:21 PM

Hey Kim-What kind of wine do you serve with dove? And does it taste like chicken??

Statia-Sending good vibes your way.

Jocelyn_P Sep 10th, 2004 04:25 PM

GoTravel, I am laughing and crying at the same time at your dream interpretation. This family of four who's accustomed to a spacious house has been living in a cramped little apartment for the past 4 months!!! We're waiting for our new house to be built. It was supposed to be finished in May, now the "anticipated" move in date is Sept 23. Talk about loose ends and feeling trapped or boxed in! Add in my broken leg and I've been pulling my hair out lately. I know we have so much to be grateful for, and I try to remind myself of that every day, but there's a whole lot of tension around here.
