#1 -- Rave: Going to Vegas next week for the first time in 4 years!

#2 -- Rant: Leaving teenage son at home for the first time, since his older siblings moved out. (Worry, worry.)

#3 -- Rant: Can't stay in Vegas as long as I'd like because of #2; also, because I recently became a "supervisor", and now I feel responsible for 16 other people.

#4 -- Rave: Oldest daughter's boss' latest invesment property is a house less than 2 miles from mine -- and he's renting it to my daughter!

rave: Agree with Mama.

Rant: most of you wont post here because jor didn't start it, and then be all thrilled when jor does. Like it matters. Pathetic.

Rant: So much negativity on the rants and raves thread. This is supposed to be fun, people! :)

Rave: We found a knock-your-socks-off fantastic authentic Italian food place in town, after months of looking.

Rant: I lost a good excuse to go back to Italy.

Rave: we're planning to go to the Amalfi Coast in June anyway.

Rave: fall weather.

Rant: DH leaves Sunday for two weeks.

Rave: family is happy and healthy. ((L))

Rave: Finished and posted my Tuscany trip report.

Rant: Posted the report under the heading of "Budman's Trip Report to Ireland." How did that happen? ((a)) ((b))

Rave: My husband and I are leaving for Aruba in 9 days!

Rave: I'll see my husband tonight; he's had meetings every night this week and I've been asleep by the time he gets in.

Rave: I feel good...the alien incubating in my womb seems happy. I felt him for the first time on Wed.--I think. It's supposed to feel like a little flutter at first, right? ;-)

Rant: I have no trips planned at the moment.

Rave: Life is good!

Another week gone by......

RAVE: It's opening day of the N. C. State Fair, and it's one of the best ones! :-) Will arrive there about 3:30 p.m., and eat my way through the place until after the fireworks around 10! Looking forward to the doo-wop and bluegrass groups, the beautiful gardens, all the animals, Al's Fries, pork BBQ, roasted corn, peach cobbler, sausage sandwiches...... YUM!!!!!!! (No, no diet today! :-d )

RAVE: Still at 22 lbs. off, water aerobics 3 times this week, down one clothing size.... YAY!!!!!!!! Thanks so much to those of you who have been encouraging me!!!

RANT: My darling 15 year old Cairn Terrier must have surgery next Friday, tumor on his lip. Probably skin cancer run amok, but could be melanoma! :-(

RAVE: The beautiful Fall colors on the Blue Ridge Parkway.... so pretty this past Monday!

Rave: After weeeeeeeeks of practice, skate competition program is finally coming together :-D

Rave: Leaving for Hawaii in 12 short weeks....that means Christmas is just around the corner.... :-o

Rant: Had a 7 am Dr. appointment. BP was high! Also, told me to take excess weight off.

Off to 2 weeks in SoCal on Monday!!!!! :-))

Small rant: Have a dentist's appointment in one hour :-(

I don't really have any rants or raves this week, but wanted to wish you all a fabulous weekend! :)

Rave: Going to New York next Thursday morning to see daughter, son-in-law, and adorable almost-one-year-old grandson. As soon as I can stop hugging them all, I'm told I get to go to Trader Joe's, as well as the new Target that just opened up in their neighbourhood, and then I'll spend a day in the city wandering, shopping, and getting taken to lunch.
Rant: Chose this time to go because my sweetie will be away for 10 days, on concert tour in the Maritimes. He's back for a couple of days and then off again, to Quebec.
Rave: He hasn't left yet! Still one more weekend to enjoy before it all happens.
To OneWanderingJew - isn't that a great feeling, that little flutter? I remember it so well, even though it's been decades. This is neat - we haven't had a baby born on this site (as it were) since Ani's little Riley, months ago.

Hyacinth: The early bird and all that...good for you....are you on GMT? Rant: Yankees ahead of BoSox Rave: Cardinal ahead of Houston. Rave: Thank God this election season is almost over!!!! Rant: New house in FLL is not finished yet :-(.

Rave: Budman's trip to Ireland sounded like a fabulous time in Italy! :) Everyone should read it on the Europe board if they haven't.

Rave: I have a full weekend of events planned with friends.

Rant: I broke up with my boyfriend last week, so I'm single again.

Rave: I think a guy on my volleyball team might be interested in me. If not, he's at least becoming a good friend, and I always like gaining new friends!

Rave- My son is healing from his bout with mono and is back to work.

Rave- The family will all be together this next week (plus a few others).

Rant- Arthritis sucks.

Rave- Going on my first cruise next month with the family. Will be a great time. (I hope)

Rant: logging on at 7 this morning and reading Hyacinth's "Boast". Hyacinth Bucket would never do that. :d

Rave: I made some really great split pea & ham soup last night from scratch. :&

Rave: I got my e ticket receipt yesterday. :S-

Doc - we lucked out with the tickets. Now I hope we aren't out of luck.

Rant: The smoke from fires along 50 are choking us and keeping kids inside.

Rave: It's Friday!

Rant: I can't go to the NY/NJ Fodor's get-together because I have to go to a bridal shower that day :(

Rant: I have to travel to Northern VA next week, and the week after, and the week after, and so on (for work)...I can't wait to be sitting in that Beltway traffic.

Rave: I will rack up points on Amtrak

Rave: Today is my Mom's Birthday, and I actually baked her a cake rather than buying one (it's a box mix, but it could be worse!).
Rave: Sunday is Mom and Dad's 51st wedding anniversary - double celebration! I feel very blessed to still have them around.
Rave: Just got a pay-raise today, yea!
Rant: My niece's boyfriend went to work in Iraq for a contractor and I'm nervous for his safety. My nephew is training and will be heading over to Iraq in January to be an MP for the Iraqi Election.
Rave: To all our brave men and women in the service, may they all come home safely and soon!
Rave: Made a great trip this past weekend to Waterville Valley, NH for leaf-peeping, and Fryeberg Fair. Just fabulous!
Rant: Sox/Yankees will most likely be rained out tonight.
Rave: Going to Boston tomorrow night to watch the game at a pub, should be a raucous game, lots of atmosphere! Have fun Bennnie on Sunday! GO SOX!

Rave: Am invited to play Olympic Club in SFO next week.

Rant: Haven't swung a club since mid-August, and rain is the weekend forecast here in Portland, OR.

Hey everyone!

Rant: Rain here on the east coast which means the Yankee-Red Sox game may not happen tonight.

Rave: I have great seats for Games 6 and 7 - that is if there IS a Game 6 or 7!!

Rave: Yankees being 2-0 right now. (Ok Boston fans, you can yell at me)

Rave: After weeks of pleading finally got my right wing Republican BF to watch Fahrenheit 9/11. Needless to say he is very disgusted with Bush now.

Rant: It's only 2pm and I want to sleep at my desk.

Rant: Proposed fare hikes for all of NYC transit including Metro North and LIRR. As if the $240 I'm paying per month isn't enough already!!

Rave/Rant: That there are some of us out there that can still "deal" with life. Too many people getting medicated as young as 3 for BS that didn't exist years ago.

Rant: The abyssmal state of public transport in chicago (my morning commute was a thing of horror).

Rave: That the international film-fest is in town.

Rant: the current state of the Boston/Red Sox situation.

Rave: I'm flying to NYC for vacation next week.

Rant: that it is currently 46F and overcast outside.

Rave: Guys had a great time at the Niners game last week. Wow, what a game, huh? DD & I turned it off when they were losing to watch Jersey Girl, then found out they won in the last ten minutes!! Go Niners!!

Rant: DD is off to SF for the weekend to see a Giants game and then do some serious shopping in SF the next day!! I want to go!! :(

Rave: High school homecoming tonight, should be lots of fun!!

Rant: I really miss seeing #52 down on that field making all those tackles and being captain. (Two shoulder surgeries ened that career fast.)

Rave: Had an excellent meal at my fav restaurant here in town with DH last Fri. night. Then saw Wimbelton which was really good.

Rant: New carpet and pit cushions are taking forever to get here. I can't wait to see the room finally finished.

Rave: Came home from the gym last night to a GORGEOUS bouquet of flowers. I thought, "who's sick?" this is weird. Our dentist & his wife were sending us flowers to thank DH for a timely response to an accident his wife was in. They're happy campers!!

Rave: off to Paso Robels tomorrow for the Fall Harvest. Lots of barrel tasting, yummy eats and lots of fun. I can't wait to have dinner Buona Tavolo, reservations are already confirmed!!! :)

Rant: I wish we had more time there, but schedules are tight this week!!!

Rave: DD did an excellent job in both of her water polo games last week. Wow, they are really getting good! Her youth pastor came to watch her play which was nice. While she was filming, she made several goals for the camera!!!

Rant: Season is over in two weeks, then winter swimming starts, brrrrrr!!! Her cozy red fur lined parka and UGG boats are great for getting out of the water when it's really cold.

Rave: Planning a Disneyland trip next month, hopefully we'll get to stay one night at the Grand Californian, it's been a dream of mine for a long time! Dinner at Napa Rose and lunch the next day at Blue Bayou!!!

Rave: 13 of us are going to David Copperfield next week. Should be lots of fun!!! He's so cool. Happy Fall!! (~~) Happy Weekend!! :) ***kim***

Sam - Have fun watching the game. Lets hope for a good outcome.

And please tell your nephew thank you on our behalf. We truly do appreciate the sacrifice that he and all members of the armed services and their families make.

Additional Rave- Just got the job offer I was waiting for. Yahoo (I think) and the salary was waaaaay good. Go me, go me!

i hate to be the one to break this to you kimamom but the baseball season is over and the giants aren't in the playoffs. wonder what dd really has in mind......

Rave: High school reunion last weekend in St. Louis -- unbelievably fabulous time -- better than I ever could have anticipated!

Rave: While I was there, met another fodorite for the first time (AnneSherrod) and we had a 4-1/2 hour dinner!

Rave: I am now doing my crunches in sets of 100. Never thought it would happen.

Rant: Fodors froze the Molvania thread. Why oh why? It was hysterical.

Kimamom--we saw David Copperfield a few years back, he was awesome! Enjoy a great evening!
