Not bad for an old lady! :p ) Have a wonderful weekend, everybody in Fodorville! ((f)) |

Rant: The Apprentice. Trump. Nuff said.
|
Rave: I have a free Saturday tomorrow! No b-day parties, wedding showers (ugh), etc. I think I'll hose down the front porch and get my furniture out and buy some hanging baskets!

Bonniebroad! Go Go Go!! That is terrific.
the first of December was covered with snow And so was the turnpike from Stockbridge to Boston Lord, the Berkshires seemed dream-like on account of that frosting With ten miles behind me and ten thousand more to go....What I wouldn't give to hear him singing that at Tanglewood...or anywhere!! :) Rave: Summertime and the livin is easy. Rant: Chiggers. (No way to give that a musical twist LOL) |
Rant: People who don't do a simple check on Snopes.com before passing on chain e-mails. If you are going to pass on a chain e-mail, at least have the courtesy to delete all the e-mail addresses from all previous recipients.
Rave: A series of shows that have been rebroadcast on the History International Channel relating to aspects of life in Canada before the 1900's. The one I've found most interesting is Quest for the Bay. Rave: My 3 1/2 year old son's interest in books and his sudden interest in going to the library to get books on his new favorite subject. Rant: That subject is lizards. I hate lizards. He doesn't buy that I'm allergic to lizards when he asks why we can't get one as a pet. Rave: The on-going word game in my company. Two colleagues both used the word "conundrum" in recent work. Now, we each feel an obligation to try and work "conundrum" in whenever possible, without making it sound forced. Oh, I forgot this big RAVE!
We had clear skies on our flight from California to NY and therefore outstanding views of the terrain over Arizona, Utah, Colorado. We could see the "red rock" and deserts as well as snow capped moutains! What an experience :) |
Happy Friday to all.
Rant: No spring here. Rave: Because it's cool, the blooms on the ornamental cherry trees are lasting longer. The large old ones droop to the ground and remind me of fireworks. The younger ones bring to mind a red haired woman with her hair blowing up in the breeze. Rave: Congrats, bamakelly! |
Rave: Bamakelly's great news! And everybody's raves!
Rave: our little town looks so pretty. The new leaves have hidden much of the ugliness left by that unwelcome visitor Ivan last September! Rant: Boarding my dear cocker in 6 days (sniff). |
Rave: Mild May weather continues, but we really need the rainy season to begin here in SMdA.
Rave: Should be in the new house in a month. Rant: Lots of activity at the smaller house, but no offers - the RE folks priced it too high, but I expected some low ball bids. Feliz fin de semana. M |
Bonnie, you go girl!
Bennnie, so sorry to hear about your MIL. It's so hard to watch loved ones slip away. I hope she's peaceful. Bamakelly, congrats on the future arrival! Rave: It's Friday and I don't have too much I have to tackle this weekend. Rave: Finally got my new "inherited" pot racks hung over my kitchen island. Now I'll have more cabinet space, as well as the memories of the same racks hanging in my mother's kitchen when I was a kid. Rave: My Digger Dog is doing superb after his surgery last week. He's back to his rambunctious self. Rave: European trip research is so fun and exciting. Heck, any type of trip research is fun. Have a great weekend everyone! |
Rave: Next Friday I'll be snorkeling, boogie boarding, and mai-tai drinking in Hawaii.
Rave: My sister graduates from high school this weekend with a full tuition waiver at the college of her choice. My grandparents will be over for the weekend, too. Yay, for my smart sister! Rave: My other sister is loaning me several pairs of shorts, cute tops, etc. for Hawaii. Yay, for my sister who shops too much but is generous! Rant: Daughter has bruises and bumps from her many misadventures this week that included diving off the bed and jumping off a chair. Rave: Daughter is an adventurous and curious little dare-devil. Happy Friday and congratulations to all of your graduates! |
Wow, thanks everyone! I am humbled by all these well wishes! Fodorville Friends are so great!
Byrd--How neat about our group of travel friends. How did you all originally meet / know each other? |
Byrd--that is YOUR friends, not OURS! Sorry--wishful thinking! (or maybe just a typo)...
|
Wow-so many great raves today!!
Rave: DD said her first word yesterday (well, besides the mama's and dada's)...CHEESE! Definately not a surprise considering how much she loves the stuff. RAVE: My best high school friends are in town -we're having a girls night tonight-woohoo! Gorgeous and sunny in beautiful Colorado...no rants today! |
Bama,
We've almost all been friends for years, and all live here in Demopolis. One of the couples, our best friends, I've known since childhood (my husband grew up in Dothan, but we've been back in Demopolis for many years). We've traveled with them for a long time, beginning when our children were little, taking them to Colorado skiing every winter. The "TG" (travel group)is really a lively, funny fun-loving bunch, whose ages span about 20 years. We get together at our homes almost every weekend, and a lot of week nights, especially during trip-planning time. And they say small town life is dull! I know the New Yorkers are jealous! LOL Byrd |
Thanks to all for their well wishes.
Congratulations to the parents of recent graduates - what a wonderful milestone to achieve (for you and your children!) Bamakelly - congratulations!! Hope all goes well between now and the new year. Bonniebroad - congratulations to you too on the weightloss - keep up the good work. Statia - thanks for your thoughts - I believe you lost your mom recently too. Peace is all you can pray for at this time. |
bonniebroad...congrats, really. it's impressive, and it must be a new world for you! ((Y))
bamakelly...congrats to you as well!! sounds wonderful. :D sorry have to miss the nyc gettogether tomorrow. :-( |
Rant: Really want the rain to stop long enough for the house to get painted.
Rave: Found out that my favorite TV show 'Arrested Development' is going to have a third season after all! Yipppeee. |
Bennnie, I nearly lost my mom a year ago February, but she surived and is doing very well now. However, I can relate to what you are going thru because it was very hard to watch her fade more every day and never know if it was going to be the last.
My thoughts are with you and your family. |
