Rant: Professional athelets' money and drugs.
Rave: My $15 painting, which I found is worth between $2000 to $7000. Rant: The Bush Rock and Roll and Rhetoric European tour. Rave: I didn't get the T-shirt (army green). |
rave: finally got younger daughter to set trip to view colleges in CHI, BOSton and NYc, AND.. it works out that I can send DD home at the end then head for Oregon, spend 8 days there and see older daughter's college Luau.
Rant: Airfares are running $1500 to $1900! and I've been running all sort of scenarios all day. Ouch! |
Rant: Why can't I get one of those $15 paintings?
(Not really a) Rant: I'm <i>exhausted</i> from sightseeing/shopping/flying/driving/eating with visitors this past week. Rave: They were all great people and it was fun. |

Rave: Athletes make too much money, but if an owner throws 20 million at me, I'm taking it. Imagine Jor, if your $15 painting is worth $7000, but you are TOLD it is only worth $30. Same situation the athletes are in with a free market.
You contradict your own logic. Think about it. |
Rave: Barry Bonds for one of the most amazing press conferences of all time. If ever stopped for speeding, my defense will be "I don't know what speeding is." Just too funny.
Rant: That a person who so clearly cheated who will leave the game as the all time HR leader - at least on paper. Rant: The Jeff Gannon issue and how some see no problem with what occurred. Rave: I still need to undergo several tests, but the physician I met with yesterday has ruled out the worst case scenario being an organ transplant. He thinks the problem can be reversed and suspects it's related to what I'm seeing a second physician for. That problem may require surgery but a repair job I can handle. A replacement part would have been difficult. Rave: Nice dinner at a place in NYC last week, Il Buco. While not nearly as good as it was 9 years ago, it's better than it was last time I was there. Still, I miss the days when it was overlooked by the Zagat's-driven crowd and was more Lower East Side than Upper East in terms of clientele. |
Rant: Just cleaned 5 inches of snow and ice off my driveway.
Rave/Rant: DS moving out next Thursday. Its time and I'm ambivalent. But mostly pleased. Rave: Everyone is healthy this week Have a great weekend... |

Rant: My youngest son and his roommate's dorm room was robbed this week. The unknown culprits took cash and jewelry. My son was fortunate enough to have his wallet with him when this occurred, but his roommate was not.

Rant: MORE SNOW! And potentially lots more on the way if the 'perfect storm' indeed forms over the Northeast next week! Rave: Leaving TOMORROW for a week in St. Kitts & Nevis! PERFCT Timing! Rant: Just found out dear nephew, 3 1/2 weeks old, is in the hospital ill. Am praying for him! |

Rave: Beautiful sunny day here, going to walk my dog in the park in a few minutes. Getting very excited about starting a new career next week!!! I will be traveling up east a lot so will need some input from you all who live there!
Rant - I start work next week! I will just miss being a lounge lizard!!! I will miss walking in the park any time I want, etc... jor - A friend of mine bought a painting at GoodWill years ago because she liked the frame. She stored it in her attic for years and when she got ready to move the estate sale lady siad she thought it was worth something. She got it appraised : Frame - $0 Painting - $20,000 - Happy friday to all! |
Rant/Rave: It's Friday and I'm here
Rave: Olive Oyl's Yankee-Dixie test. Actually all her fun tests. Rant: Region bashing Still job hunting. Sent out about 6 or so applications this week. Haven't heard anything from earlier ones sent out. Anyone interested in a computer nerd with okay grammar and spelling skills? So jor, are you selling the painting for a huge profit and then taking a vacation with the found money? My thoughts are with those (and their families) with health issues. |

Rave--Enjoyed a nice day over at the coast last weekend. Rare for OR this time of year.
Rant--Sick child again this week. Everyone in town is sick it seems. Rave--Got busy on my scrapbooks finally and am enjoying seeing pictures of the kids when they were little. Rant--Kitty needs a tooth extracted. Rave--Getting our annual extended family trip plans in place for the summer. Hard to coordinate with lots of people, but it is coming together. |

Trolls. Whatever kind , goofy ones who change screen names by the day, odd balls who come out on weekends speaking Bad French and bitter & ugly posters with personal gripes, who one minute dispense info on Paris and Kerouac then steal old screen names (dln) and bash other posters(me)..Tiresome, and depressing. Rave: The Majority of funny, smart, considerate and adult posters on Fodors. You have brightened many a day for me not to mention helping in numerous trips. Rave: I will be in Paris very soon... I have a client for a garden design and a store has just taken my jewelry to sell...so all in all, things are not bad at all here in Flaaarda. Wishing all of Fodorland a lovely safe weekend ((F)) |
