Hi all-been a while-seems there are many raves today-yay for everyone!

RANT: Traveling from CO to CA with new baby in a couple of weeks-SUPER stressed about how that will go.

RAVE: Baby is AWESOME!

BuffaloGirl May 28th, 2004 10:42 AM

Rant: Someone I know is headed to Iraq next week.

Rave: My World War 2 dad is still alive (but slowing down so much).

Rant: Someone I know is headed to Iraq next week.

Rave: Tomorrow is our annual block sale. I'll get rid of lot's of stuff I don't need and make money doing it!!!

Have a great holiday weekend everyone!

bonnie,
Your words are the same words that members of the Republican party (my political affiliation) have been using as a shield to deflect criticism of an ill-conceived plan. That was what I read into them.

I would further say that saying your opponent is acting for "political gain" is a new found method of trying to deflect attention towards the messenger and away from the message.

The unfortunate reality, as I see it, is that sometimes hurting/confusing the country is the price we pay for living in a Republic. If decisions are left up to the politicians as to what we may or may not be able to handle, sets a dangerous precedence. I think the country does have a right to protect secrets in the interest of national security, but unfortunately that phrase has been used to include embarrassing situations.

Ryan, those were MY words, not someone else's. I'm not concerned with what someone else meant when they said something similar. I am speaking in gereral terms........ You'd probably be very surprised at my specific thoughts when I said those words, but that is for another forum, not here!

jor, you snooze you lose. It will always be "your" thread, no matter who starts it, ok?

Faina, tylenol will help alleviate some of the virus symptoms (yours!) but I recommend multiple doses of strong alcohol first, with the tylenol to be taken the following morning. :-D

Rave: We booked our B&B in Oaxaca for Christmas. Going with half a dozen friends to celebrate a big birthday (not mine).

Rant: Now I have to book the air for Oaxaca, which will be a PIA for sure.

Rave: No plans for the long weekend, just relaxing, maybe a movie, a little hiking...aaaaah. Sometimes it's just good to be HOME.

FainaAgain May 28th, 2004 11:37 AM

Marylin, clarification please: should alcohol go in drive A, D, F, or all of the above?

On another thought, a rave: leaving for Tahoe tomorrow I better pack it :)

Ani May 28th, 2004 11:38 AM

Marilyn: what part of Oaxaca? We honeymooned there-in Huatulco.

Marilyn May 28th, 2004 11:44 AM

Drive F for Faina, of course!

Ani, Oaxaca City. I would love to go to Huatulco for a few days afterwards but haven't been able to talk anyone into it. I hate the idea of coming home before New Year's, which is how the plan stands right now. Did you love it?

Fodorite018 May 28th, 2004 11:44 AM

Rave--Its a 3 day weekend:)

Rave--A huge thanks to all the vets!

Rants--None...couldn't do that on a weekend like this:)

dcespedes May 28th, 2004 11:58 AM

Rant: allergies!!! :-( boo, hisssss

Rave: my eleven year old nephew wants to spend a week with us this summer--this will involve him flying alone for the first time :-)

Rave: Memorial Day and the self-less veterans who made immeasureable sacrifices for their country :)>-

marilyn- you do know about the christmas eve nativity radish festival in Oaxaca City, right? plan to be there for that if possible. amazing. and bunuelos and plate smashing.

Marilyn May 31st, 2004 04:37 PM

Thanks, emd. Yes, I do know about it, and we should be there from the 18th to the 27th. Right now my rant is that I can't find any air routing that doesn't involve 2 stops both going and coming. Ugh.
