Rave: Long weekend and the office is pretty empty already!

Rant: BF going to Austin for a weekend with the boys. The REAL rant is that I couldn't get my girls together for our usual weekend. [(

Rant: Looks like rain most of the weekend anyway.

Rave: Good "Me-time" - magazines, movies, have a facial and massage scheduled for tomorrow afternoon! ((G)) to self which is better for me than all the ((D))and ((B)) I would be having!

Rave: Having a wonderful sister! Our relationship grows more important every year. >:D<

Wishing everyone on-time flights, safe road trips or a wonderful weekend at home!

Rave: Leaving this afternoon for a fun weekend in NYC, including Spamalot and lots of shopping!

Rave: Booking my flight to Charleston today for a trip in Oct.

Rave: Buffalo weather is finallly warming up - we'll be opening our pool next week.

Rant: Broke my collarbone in May and it is not healing properly... Always wear your helmet while cycing - I cracked mine in half in this same accident!

Rave: The kind congratulations expressed on this board to the graduates and their parents! It's really a scarey as well as an exciting time for both :D

Rave: In addition to graduating Summa Cum Laude, my son received two additional honors! =D>

Rave: To Boston University for providing the most outstanding accomodations for handicap guests -- a fine, fine, job! ((Y)) ((Y)) ((Y))

Rave: The sun! It's finally out! ((#))

Rant: My youngest son has not found a summer job yet. Maybe he can find one as a television critic somewhere, lol :D

Rant/Rave: Apartment hunting with the oldest son. I'm learning so much about him as he hunts for the "right" place to live. My poor feet -- when will I learn to turn my back against fashion and wear sensible footwear while pounding the pavement?

Rave: Working on my garden this weekend!

Rave--Had a great weekend with extended family at the cabins on a quiet lake last weekend (and we made it a 4 day weekend!).

Rant/Rave--Kitty accidentally got out when DH and DS left home, so she was out all weekend. Could not find her when we returned. As I was putting up flyers she came waltzing home:) although very hungry.

Rant--Wilting in the heat. It was 93 here yesterday and we are just not used to that, lol! Hotter today...sigh. Where is the rain? Yes, a full blooded Oregonian here, lol!

Rave--No weekend plans! Will just relax in the hammock.

Rant/sob: Last Friday our beloved little Reba cat died very suddenly. The good news is her suffering was only a matter of minutes. The bad news is her pal Garth is missing her, too. They were together for 14 years. I cried the entire weekend, but have felt better since then.

Rave: we are starting out for Kansas today to see my husband's parents and other family members.
Rant: my father-in-law's Alzheimer's is starting to become noticeable.
Rant: father-in-law's sister is battling breast cancer. Last report is that her hair is gone but she's been handling the chemo fairly well.

Rant: told spouse I could stay home with kitty and let him go to Kansas.
Rave: spouse said, "We can get someone to check on Garth; I can't get someone to replace you."

Rave: we hire a wonderful lady for pet checks. She brought us a huge basket of mums in sympathy for Reba's passing.

Rant: Stupid contractors and the house foundation that is taking a year.

Rave: Angels split their series with the White Sox, and I'll take it. Rookie pitcher Ervin Santana has some hot pitches! Go Angels!

Rant - Weather this week has matched our lives - stormy, overcast.

Rave - my daughter auditioned for a youth orchestra and literally choked during it. She was coughing so hard she had to leave the room to get water. But she recovered well and was able to finish strong. I'm proud that she was able to remain poised despite the stress of the audition and her sadness over the passing of her grandmother. Never more proud of her.

bennie- So sorry to hear about your mother-in-law. (I assume from last week FFR&R)

elizabeth - Sorry to hear around your Reba, too. My "Cat" (actual name) wandered around looking for "Bingo" for a while after he passed, too. It was sad to see her confused and lonely. Good news is that I still have her and recently my new vet had no idea she was 11 until I told him. Hopefully she will be around a while longer.

Rave: Off to Michigan this pm and for 4 days. Here comes a used boatlift- my significant other is smiling ear to ear.

Rant/Rave: Sons are too busy with growing family activities (sports)or new exciting lives to join us.

Rave: Daughter's DH and sons will come- they are too little to be organized yet.

Rave: Tremendously abundant asparagus and radish crop already and the most beautiful spring - early summer gardens that I can remember. Iris, California everblooming roses, clemetis, early lilies are all absolutely spectacular.

Rant: Rabbits got to the broccoli and pole beans, but we saved them just in time.

RAVE: All the soldiers now and of the past eras who have given us the security of freedom to enjoy all the good things life has to offer. Without them, we would not have a fraction of the choices that we have.

Rave: I actually got to 3 states in 5 days and with 2 flights that were flawless and cost $79. We common folk would not get to travel without Southwest.

Rave: White Sox 33 wins- keep it up guys as Twins are plugging away as well.

Have a wonderful holiday and hopefully all our servicemen and servicewoman will be more fortunately located next year.

Rave: Only 19 days until our trip to NYC!!!

Rave: All the wonderful fodorites who contributed great ideas to taking my 16 yr old daughter/fashion diva to NYC!

Rant: Still have to teach my regular classes and work overload contracts all summer, how I wish we got summer off too!

Rant: Employers still laying off workers at a rapid pace when the economy is supposed to be improving.

Rave: Love my job, love my family, love my girls (even though they drive me crazy), love that the 4th decade is better than ever!

Rave: Mild May weather continues and certainly beats DFW's early week.

Rave: Visited colonial Queretaro on Wednesday.

Rave: Heading to Michoacan (Morelia, Patzquaro, Sta Clara de Cobre, etc.) in June.

Rant: Mail service is very slow to the US using a commercial carrier.

Rant: Telemex is "blocking" VoIP (Vonage) via their DSL lines locally. The US Federal Gov't. is "involved".

Onewanering Jew, I agree with you on the weather right now. Lovely and quite unusual for us in late May!

Added Rant: Crane guy is still up there. Hope they resolve it soon and that copycats do not follow.

Rave~we spent last weekend with my sister and her family. We watched our niece be a stellar catcher and our nephew run the lights perfectly for his little theater show. We cacooned and watched movies and ate great meals together.

Rant:they live far away

Rave:the fireplace is done and looks beautiful. The new couch arrives this weekend and the painting begins in 2 weeks.

Rant:getting older and enduring the physical changes that accompany that.

Rave:getting older and enjoying the good humor that accompanies that.

Rant: morning people - why are THEY running the world??????

Rant: Queen E II was in our fair city this past week helping us celebrate the centennial of our province Alberta - and the whole time she was here the weather was dreadful (windy and rainy) - it really spoiled all the outdoor celebrations.

Rave: Finally - it's sunny and clear and warm ((#)).

Rave: Am lucky to have two beautiful and healthy grandsons, one 2.5 yr old and one 3 month old, and am even luckier because I get to babysit them often :-) !!!

Rave: MIL is finally excited about her upcoming trip to Europe (after months of worrying about everything). She leaves in a couple of hours.

I second (or third or fourth) happy birthday, anniversary and gradutation to one and all, along with sending my thoughts to those who are dealing with difficult or sad issues in their lives.

Rave: DH's employer's recent buyout. New owners are high in the top 50 companies to work for AND have great benefits. Having all insurances 100% paid now is going to be like having a raise!

Rave: Late night scooter rides with my DH along the beach. Stops under the moonlit sand and sea aren't bad, either. ;)

Rave: Finally having a cell phone so that my wonderful sister can call me while taking late night scooter rides. :D Technology is amazing.

Rant: Coming to the conclusion that my sweet little Chihuahua is deaf. He's 13, however, so I suppose it can be expected.

Rave: My Jack Russell's eye is healing nicely after his surgery. Hopefully all puppy woes will be over for awhile.

Rant: No holiday weekend here, but we will still be remembering our troops and veterans. **==

Rave: My best friend finally resigned from the restaurant business after twenty-two years. (Was in it for twenty-one myself).

Rant: The restaurant owner fired his wife (Comptroller of the place for six years) out of revenge. Now both are unemployed.

Rave: Mom and dad attended Frenchy's Loire Valley wine dinner last night in Long Beach, CA...Yummy!

Rant: I didn't get to go.
