BTike, After college I worked in London at a restaurant and often hit the clubs near Lester Square. I remember taking the bus home and trying to avoid the gangs of skin heads. They use to go into shops and cause problems. But I think that there were only six murders in England that year compared to thousands in the US.

Here in the US I have been car-jacked at gun point and had a drive-by shooting of my house which I used to own in San Antonio. The bullets went thru my sofa where I watch TV. San Antonio had 15,000 gang members in the late 80's. A year earlier the chief of police said SA didn't have any gangs.

I think you can find bad neighborhoods and towns anywhere in the US or UK. I'm glad I moved back up here to Minnesota...one reason being hardly any serious crime. But the meth users are starting to change all that.
