Rave: Had a great St. Patricks Day.

Rant: Our once highly sought after school system is going down the toilet. We have great teachers and great kids but the school committee continues to fail to show leadership, and too many members of the community want to have their houses valued at 20x what they paid for them but won't invest a few hundred dollars to maintain the school system because their kids are grown.

Rave: I got asked twice this week if I was losing weight! The gym must be paying off.

Rant: MIL continues to not show improvement and is losing hope.

Rave: It's Friday!!!

Rant: Snow on Sunday in NY. Will it ever end.........

Rave: Scott Petersen getting what he deserves. My heart goes out to both families.

Rant: Robert Blake got off? Let me get this straight, my wife was shot in the car, but I went back to the restaurant because I left my gun there....? Shows what money and the right lawyers will do.........

Rave: Spamalot on Broadway is getting rave reviews. I'm going April 28, can't wait.

Rave: Finally got U2 tickets!!!! :-d

it's a new position for "enough" more $$. i'm really thrilled. i'm in the initial stages of looking for a place in nyc. not my first choice, but it just goes to show you to expect the unexpected. =D>

rant: a friend from high school died last weekend froma heart anurism at 30. he had children.

Rave: Looks like a warmer day for us here in Central NJ. About 50 or so.

Rant: DS with the flu.

Rave: Spent the day in NYC yesterday with my DH, DD, and her BF. Went to the Museum of Natural History. BF father has donated some of his work to the museum and his friend who is a curator toured us through the exhibit. Really special for all of us.

Rant: Celebrities who have money to buy high priced attornys to get them off. Really, anyone else, who was accused on multple occassions of messing with little kids, would be in jail now. And as for Robert Blake, what the hell? Sorry, just burns my butt. At least that creepy Scott Peterson is getting what he deserves. Does he have any expressions, ever?

Rave: Sunshine in San Antonio, finally!!

Rave: Our move is going smoothly so far. We got a great crew...all our furniture left shrink wrapped and padded. Van arrives tomorrow--keeping fingers crossed for nice weather!!

Rave: Walked around the new house yesterday. It's immaculate...former owners left it looking as if it had never been lived in.

Rave: The house sits on a hill with long views from some of the windows. :D It's beautiful!

Rave: The transition, painful as we left Tampa, is almost over.

Rant: I'd rather have all my teeth pulled without Novocaine than have to move ever again!!!

Rant: Friends and good times left behind.

Rave: They are only a cheap Southwest flight away.

Rave: DS arrives for a long weekend next weekend...one of the benefits of moving back to TX!

Isn't it great about Scott Peterson...but irritating that he still seems so aloof, so above it! Hope death row takes him down a peg.

Seetheworld, I worked for 5 years in a school building that was grades 3 through 5 (switched this year to first and second graders--how sweet and innocent they seem by comparison!). My theory is that the problem with 5th graders these days is the middle school/junior high system. In the old days (or even now in parochial schools), kids were in the same bldg k-8. So fifth graders had kids up to three years older than them in the building. Now that fifth graders are the oldest in the school, they think they're big shots. Because they're the oldest, there seems to be a perception, both among them and among those of us who work with them, that they're older than they are. No doubt there are other factors; the media, the whole "latch-key" thing, etc. But I really think being the oldest in the school contributes to their growing up too fast.

Rant: I'm becoming depressed over the job search. It's been a couple of months now and I've only had two interviews. One I never heard back from (guess I didn't get that one) and one will make the next cut within the week. I was also rejected before interview from a paraprofessional position (well, the money was good, and I thought I was qualified).

I'm starting to question myself on my skills and career path (recession proof, always in need, can't move to India -- well, maybe). It's not good and it's affecting my out-of-work life too. But I keep trying to remind myself I'm better off than most because I do have a job and creditors aren't on my tale 24/7.

I am trying to focus on the positive and I've been trying to enhance my skills and even took an online course to put more stuff on the resume.

Rave: basketball. I'm 14/16 for yesterday.

Rave: the weather should be nice this weekend for all the yard work I need to do.

Rant: sore muscles after doing all the yard work this weekend.

Rave: Antibotics (ditto mms). I've been sick for a week now but can't imagine what this would have been like without the drugs!

Rave: My grandmother's violets are blooming now. Canadian geese on the neighbor's pond was raising a ruckus so I dragged myself out to see what was going on. Discovered the violets, fruit trees are starting to bloom, birds are singing...what a great day.

Rave: More time for this forum since I've been sick.

Rant: All the paperwork I haven't caught up on.

OO, you've moved to a beautiful part of the country. I know you'll fall in love with it!

Rant - It started snowing last night and hasn't quit. Will continue on till tomorrow so-lot's of snow to deal with in the next 24 hours. Took me an hour to clear my driveway this am and will have to do the same later on. To make matters worse, it's a very heavy, wet snow that my little snow blower can't handle, so I have to do the majority of if by pure physical labor. Just a good old fashioned blizzard.

Rave - Looking forward to a trip to Vegas this May and then in September going to Europe (Paris, Rome & Amalfi Coast)!

Rave: Lunch & early afternoon appt. in NYC then taking the rest of the afternoon off!

Rant: Clear blue skies all week, but on Sunday (1st day of spring) and my Volvo club event it's supposed to snow & rain! Hope it doesn't deter people from coming!

Rant: Friend & Neighbor has been in a coma for over a week. Family talking about pulling the plug. Wish he had taken better care of himself and had more will to live. :( Makes me worry about my Dad's health and wish he would listen to us and take better care of himself too!

Rave: Week 4 of my fitness challenge. People are noticing my weight loss too! (Congrats on your hard work Bennie!!) :) It feels good...and I weigh in again tomorrow, so fingers crossed it'll be another 3 lbs off! I even have more energy!

Rave: Planning my first trip to Europe for September and saw a guy posting about where to ask his girlfriend to marry him in Austria. Sent thread to my boyfriend. Hoping maybe he will get the hint and look over the ideas. :-d

Rant: Still picking up the slack from a fired co-worker.

Rave: Back in the 70's this weekend. I can even handle the rain with temps like that! It will help our Spring flowers grow! ((F))

Rave: Going out to lunch then shopping with my Mom today--always fun. It's amazing how protective I've felt toward her since my Dad died five years ago.
Rant: I really miss my Dad.

Rave: DS (my oldest) turned 16 on Tuesday and can now get himself where he needs to go, when he needs to get there.
Rant: My babies are growing up way too fast :-(

Rave: First boys' high school soccer games of the season tomorrow and DS made varsity as a sophomore--proof that hard work pays off!

Rant: Robert Blake--really? Ugh.
