Love Bald Head Island off the coast of North Carolina - beautiful, very private and so relaxing!!
|
Yosemite NP and Moab, Utah. If I could afford it, the list would include New York City, London and Paris.
|
Las Vegas (need to get a new one)
Houston San Antonio |
We've gone to Cashiers, NC almost every summer for 15 years (did the same thing as a child). We deviated a few times and went to Blowing Rock. NC is not so much a vacation as it is an escape for Floridians during the long hot summers and we never tire of the beauty.
Much less repeated but no less enjoyed destinations include SF, Charleston and Boston. I would love to visit Ireland again. Unforunately (or fortunately depending how you look at it) my husband hates eating leftovers AND duplicating vacations. His theory is that the world has too much variety to go to the same place twice! |
We spend the month of May in the Florida Keys, and we try to make a long weekend trip once a year to New Orleans. Another repeat favorite is Boston.
|
Without a doubt, I keep going back to the Canadian Rockies. You fly into Calgary and drive 2 hours to Banff. After a stay in Banff, head to Lake Louise then drive The Icefields Parkway to Jasper. I visited several years ago via a company trip. I've returned every year since and have taken new friends or family each year. None have been disappointed. I've been in June and in September/October. Both are equally beautiful.
|
The US Southwest - Arizona / southern Utah area's national parks (Zion, Bryce, etc.)
Eventually definitely want to get back to cover Switzerland Austria in more depth, also Colorado, Montana areas are fav's. Have also repeated Canada Maritimes - east coast provinces including Newfoundland, & enjoy the drive from Canada to/from South Carolina. Also plan to repeat Acadia NP in Maine. |
Repeated NEw York and Kauai.
|
Right now the place for me would be The Great Smokies. (It helps that I have a vacation home not far from the national park). I first went there when I was a newborn. I was raised by my grandparents and they had a gas station in Cherokee, NC and we traveled many a road in the Great Smokies. I will never tire of the mountains there! Eventually, having been to San Francisco/area 2 years ago for the first time, I could return there again and again and... Can't wait to go back.

highbay, have you always stayed a month in Key West or did the 28 day rental thing stretch out your keys stay? Just curious.
|
Hawaii, Hawaii, and Hawaii....just can't get enough! I also enjoy visiting Sicily, often.
|
I also love to travel and get back to some places a little quicker than others, generally because of the cost.
Southwest Gulf coast of Florida - I absolutely am addicted to it a couple times a year. The Pocono Mts in Pa - quick and easy to get to for a relaxing time. Paris, Rome, London and Ireland - been twice and will be happy to go again. San Fran to San Diego - loved the wine country but not the cities. New York City - absolutely love it! Zion natl Park - awesome - like a huge cathedral - I always enjoy it. actually the more I write the more I see that I can go back to most everywhere I've been (except certain big cities) many times. |
GoTravel:
We actually used to own a second home down there. We felt obligated to check on things once a month. Had great neighbors, but I could never see asking them to hang around the house for repair men that keep "island time". We sold the house three years ago, and have been renting the same home since. It is only 3 blocks from our former home, and yes, the 28 day rule does influence the amount of time we spend down there. We take our 22' SportCat down and have a blast fishing and diving instead of waiting for repair men! |
This will sound prosaic, but the one place we keep returning to is the Jersey Shore. specifically Ocean City NJ. We spent many vacations there when the children were babies--it's cheap (we live in nearby Penna. so we can drive there in a few hours), very walkable, and with plenty of things for the kids to do. While we now take a more exotic vacation every year, and love them all, we still head to Ocean City every year too. It's so nice and relaxing to arrive and know where the best pizza is, where the best ice cream is, what the day's routine will be.

Gotta say New Orleans. I try to go at least twice a year to get my Funky Butt fix. No truly...it's the name of a bar on Rampart Street. Some of the best live blues can be found there.
I'm also about to take my 2nd trip to San Francisco. Was there almost 2 years ago and fell in love with that city. Now I'm taking my best friend for a girls only week-end. She recently broke up with her boyfriend and my fiance is going to Myrtle Beach for bike week. LOOK OUT SAN FRANCISCO HER WE COME!!!! I also enjoy Disneyworld. I'm a big kid at heart. |
Sanibel Island. I feel like I've dropped a load of bricks off my back the minute I arrive! Didn't go this year for the 1st time in years :-(
|
Hawaii, Lake Tahoe, Yosemite and last, but not least, Paris.
|
Yosemite, Lassen, Denali, Lake Louise/Banff, NYC, London, Hawaii
Not returning: Fort Worth, Las Vegas Possibles (Still need to go): Chicago, Santa Fe |
Hawaii and New York.
|
I'm saying PKI, WDW, Panama City, St Pete Beach, and Gulf Shores.
