Anyone know if the x-ray machines at airlines damage the camera or any equipment (rechargers, batteries, compact flash cards, etc.)?

Little late for me. Just went through one a few weeks ago, but can't help but wonder.

We have an Olympus 3000 with a Smartmedia card and we also carry the rechargers and batteries but never had any problem with the xray machines at the airport.

I just returned from a trip where a Nikon Coolpix 950 was run through scanning machines at least 10 times. Haven't seen any ill consequences.

Thanks for the reassurance.

I have a new Kodak digital that got scanned 4 or 5 times. No problems yet, just wondering if anyone else had. I guess it's the problems with film that makes me wonder if there's an issue with digital. But, guess not!

Thanks!

Film is totally different from the media that your pictures are saved on. Laptops go through scans all the time without ill-effects, so a digital camera should be fine.
