2000, Hotel Chabrol, Brantome, France.
Our 40th wedding anniversary. We were upgraded to the bridal suite when they found ot it was our anniversary. Our dinner there was exquisite.

not necessarily in this order, it depends on the mood:
1)Our first trip to Paris
2)A barely planned trip to St Martin
3)Both trips we've taken to Negril
4)Incredible 3 wk trip through Italy for our 25th
5)Provence and the Dordogne
6)safari in Botswana -- this HAS to be the most exotic and romantic of all.

Most romantic trip? Any time I go anywhere with my DH and the kids are left at home, in good hands, of course.

Such as Lake Tahoe, Yosemite, San Diego, Santa Monica, Scottsdale, cruises on the Radisson Diamond, the Orchid on the Big Island, Kaui, Maui, NOLA, I can't name them all. But they have all had special moments and very romantic memories. Next trip of romance, Las Vegas.

Thanks hugglynn, I usually comeup with the destinations but he in always doing something special once there. We did get married on a catararan at sunset off Bora Bora so that set the precedent for future vacations! We are still having fun 20 years later. Over Thanksgiving we will go to Just Inn Winery in Paso Robles with a romantic room & fireplace, limo wine tasting and a private dinner! We are not rich (not hurting either!) but doing these kind of things are our priority for keeping a good marriage going. And we don't even have any children to have to escape from!

Wow, good questions. So many times, hard to select just one, but if I had to, probably the various times in Venice, all were romantic. But it's hard to just let it go at that. And I think it has so much to do with the person you're with.

Gosh, all of my trips are romantic in some way or another. We have enjoyed so many romantic trips over the past few years. The Highland's Inn in Carmel was a very romantic trip. We first started going there about three years ago to celebrate a 20th wedding anniversary.

All of our visits to the wine regions (Sonoma/Napa/Paso Robles) have been very romantic and a great way to re-connect. The Hotel Healdsburg was a very romantic place.

We're headed back to the Portland/Oregon Coast area for a week in a few days. Those trips have always been very romantic with wonderful meals, walks on the beach, etc.....

Our trips to Hawaii to visit family were also very nice. We haven't visited the Islands in a few years since all of family has moved back to the Mainland, but for our 25th we're hoping to spend some time on Maui.

Also, visiting Santa Barbara for the first time in a few weeks, so I'm hoping for a very romantic trip to celebrate our 23rd wedding anniversary. ***kim*** :)

I guess I am with Heavens...

Anyplace the kids aren't. Warm sunshine, a secluded beach and a cocktail help a bit but after many years of marriage....

any ole motel is fine!

A week in Kauai over Valentine's Day... no real itinerary, a great deck to have drinks on each evening, and sunsets so beautiful they were postcard perfect.

1. Kauai & Maui: I know, such a cliche but they are such amazing islands!

2. Morocco: Marrakesh is a beautiful and romantic city.

placeu2-I agree with that also. One of the most romantic memories I have was when the two of us got away )sans babies) for an overnight and ended up staying in a hotel in the Amish countryside in Pa. :)
It was strictly the company, not the ambience that made that a romantic memory ((L))lol

Tenth anniversary. A long weekend in Rome. Sitting on the Spanish Steps and doing nothing but watching people walk arm-in-arm on a warm fall night.

DH & I have been on some great trips, all fun and in their own right...

but last May we took a 5-night trip to the Big Sur Coast and that had to be the most romantic....so far

we spent the first night in the small town of Cambria....we arrived there late afternoon and took a barefoot stroll on the beach....the colors were so vivid...an almost inky blue sky, the rocks were a bright orange color, there were families of seals sunning on the rocks....and all of a sudden, a thick fog rolled in bringing with it a chill in the air

we walked back to our hotel...the fogcatcher inn.... and lit a fire in the fireplace. that night set the tone for a really great trip that continued on up to Big Sur and then to Carmel. It was the perfect time of year to be in CA....nice sunny days with cool evenings...really romantic!

We're going to New York City for Christmas, and I have a feeling it will be just as romantic.
